Gonna park my wall of text here so maybe someone else can feel better about their problems:

Good friend of mine broke up with his GF 7 months ago because he wanted to go out more after a 6-7 year relationship. In the end he just gets drunk with some other friends on weekends and even on weekdays.
So, since i kinda stopped "drinking till coma" years ago i see most of them less now (coma is a bit exaggerated). And instead i often visit a good female friend of ours (ex-gf and me) and we have a coffee/beer together and talk.

Two weeks ago i fell in love with said ex-GF, life is hell since then. So i told her last weekend that i fell in love with her and she texted me back that she'd like to be friends with her ex and she wouldn't want to destroy my friendship to him.
And somehow i don't care, it seems he only comes over for a coffee when no one else has time or whatever so fuck that.

Invited her for a coffee to my place the next day to talk and she told me some things.
Her ex told her very proud how he likes to be single which tbfh sounds like "u suck im better off without ya" and he said if she engages with someone he knows he would find a non-verbal solution.
Hes going to a gym very often and is a fuckn egomaniac but it doesn't scare me if he really has the balls to punch me, and i told her that id rather live without him then her.

And after asking if she feels anythin for me, she told me that she isnt ready for a new relationship as long as this isnt cleared or somethin and her head wouldn't allow it to feel anything then friendship for some1 new.
That was 4days ago so im going to ask her on weekend if she finally gives up on trying to be friends with her ex gf idiot and just hope i don't end up in friend-zone.
So in conclusion: FML

I think we can be fairly sure that, though this might not have been what you wanted to hear, it still means you're not on the "friend zone" nominee list. Seven months is not a very long time, especially not after a relationshipn that lasted 6-7 years.

I have a bad luck with "friends" tbh. last gf cheated on me with a former really good friend so....
If the cunt thinks its neccessary to punch someone over his own stupidity im fine with it. he can tell the police/judge how much his life sucks or whatever. My carecup for idiots from this planet is empty.

The "wanna go out more" reason is the only one i know. He didnt talk bout their problems when they were still engaged and he moved over to his parents place for a week TWICE. Didnt even tell me he moved to his parents for some days which kinda defeats the purpose of friend when he only talks about irrelevant crap like what games/hardware came out that week or whatever.
Thats kinda another reason why i think he isnt that much of a friend as i might have thought.

Havent been able to barely see my girlfriend, and i hate it. With uni work, and the other activities i do, like pool leagues and football - ive asked her to come along but she doesnt - our time is limited together. I left my uni assignments and blew them off until the final couple of weeks, just so i could be with her and have a good time. .

Eh, I just don't buy into the 'you're the most comfortable in a relationship when you can stand the silence' notion. It makes it all too easy to become apathetic, miss the signs that are there, and subsequently fall apart by the standard 'you don't know how to talk to me anymore' issue. I do acknowledge that talking constantly in text or through other mediums where you are physically separated is stupid, but when you are together you should be able to speak to each other for an hour...at least.

It's quite obvious that me and Jenni probably won't be together forever. I'm not naive.

What's wrong with talking to her on an IM program? MSN, XFire, it's all the same in the end. That's not the only contact we get anyway, she's usually around mine after school everyday for a good hour, then maybe 3 or 4 nights a week we go to each others house..

I'd consider a year and 8 months pretty mature and developed. Better than Oisins "OMFG I LUV U! 6 DAYS!".

yeah it is more mature and developed, but imho at your age (and i dont mean that condescendingly, relatively if anything) you should be getting experiences with other girls, too. consider yourself mature and developed now but if you put all your time and efforts in one girl through your formative years, you're hardly learning to deal with the whole gamut of relationship awesomeness/shittiness
