Talking of Ballack, the way he gets under used on set pieces is beginning to annoy the shit out of me, and many chelsea fans agree with me....Dont get me wrong, Drogba and Lamps are great over a deadball, but :
Ballack is the BEST free kick taker we have, look at the free kicks he has taken for us and Germany, nearly all either go in or very close, most of Lamps' free kicks are awful.
Ballack is EASILY the best corner taker we have, he puts it in with more fizz and curl than anyone in our team, but on this point you can argue we need him in the box to score headers so it's ok.
Also, penalties, I'm not gonna say Lamps is bad here, but Ballack is....better.

I definately agree on the corners, Lampards deliveries are dire, and, correct me if I'm wrong, I believe Ballack has had one corner this season - which led to a goal.
However, how can you say no to Didiers freekicks atm? He is in fantastic form, and he rarely misses by more than a few centimeters.. His "new" technique is simply amazing (Hull, Arsenal...), and for the first time in quite a while I see a 20 yard freekick as a huge chance.
Ballack is easily better than Lampard, but I prefer Drogba over him.

How many has he been allowed to take over the years and fuck up to get to this point, even now in games he'll be allowed to hit all the free kicks and he'll only hit 1 good one, Ballack always hits them well (as close to beckham as you'll get with the technique), fair enough let didier keep taking them while he's hitting them like that, but you know he'll go cold eventually, at which point I'd hope to see Ballack appointed taker.....I've always believed he's the most technically gifted striker of a ball we have.Jenspm wrote:

Remember the penalty he scored for us a couple of seasons back in the CL, I think it was against Betis but not sure, that's was the most penalty ever.
