I've got a bunch of jew holiday money now and I decided I want to buy a new razor with it. I hate shaving with normal Gillette razors because I get nicked all the time. Does anyone have a foil razor they can recommend?

I've been looking at this:

http://www.amazon.com/Braun-7-790cc-Pul … _i=3760901

It's pricy but the reviews are great. It looks like it'll serve me well.

Price isn't really an object (as you can see) as long as it's not ridiculously expensive.

i have the braun 8995, (one model lower i think) serves me well.

It will take a few week for your skin to get used to it and you will get a minor rash, so use a electric pre shaver on your skin for better glide and the usual post shave healer and moisturiser combo when you finish.

Wont be as clean as a wet shave but is faster and less of a ball ache.

Pricey hard to tell with this sort of stuff unless someone actually has it. Most people review stuff as soon as they get it. You'd hope something that costs that much lasts.

they're all the same imo.

Clinique do a premium version, never used it cos my beard grows so slowly i shave rarely chosing to use a beard trimmer on the closest setting instead.

The one i use when i have to shave is a semi cheapo one from the the real shaving company (doubt you get it in the US)

For post shave & moisturiser i use Anthony Logistics.

How often do you go to your barber that you get shaves there? For me, I think every two months is a bit much between shaving...

they do.

Replace the foil cutter every 18 months (if you shave every day) and clean using the darth vader helmet thing after every time you shave for continued sharpness.

How can you go 2 weeks without a shave?

I just use a 4-blade gillette (best a man can get) razor

I don't get cheek or neck beard. So at the end of two weeks I have a bit of a spock style goatee going

then it went to 1 once a week

now its at twice at week at the ripe old age of 32.

You call yourself a Muslim? I know Muslim girls who nearly had beards by high school! (I realize Islam is practiced by a diverse population and the respective hairy-ness of those individuals varies greatly as one searches)

I wish I could grow lots of facial hair. Mainly so I could have that always five-o-clock shadow look.

Unfortunately I grow a bunch on my cheek areas, and my chin, and my moustache. But that area between the chin and cheek? Bare as a baby's bottom. Shit sucks yo.

@Poseidon don't be a pussy, get a straight razor or safety razor. The blades = ultra cheap and the shave = ultra awsm.

I was planning on buying a straight razor kit eventually. But for now, I'd prefer a foil razor.

get both - lectric to knock it down, razor to clean it up. like m3thod says, i don't haveta shave every day, so i'm using each one every fourth day . . .

What about a double edged razor, blades are dirt cheap. Good shave pretty cheap compared to an electric. You rarely get sliced unless you're careless or use the same blade for about 30 shaves.

I used to have one of those electric things...then I switched to a knife blade, and that went badly. Now I'm on a standard four-blade razor, and it's great. Clean as can be.

Personally i would go with a Straight Edge razor (Cut troat.) Best shane youll ever get in your life, but it might also be the best cut youll ever get if you dont know jack shit about using it.

In term of electric, i cant really help. i got a like 40$ one that worked well for the time it lasted.

I've had a Braun 7 series for about 7 years.  Only thing I've had to buy is the replacement foils and blade (~$25).  The M3thlim is correct, it will take a week or so for your skin to adjust.  There's a special way to shave the neck which doesn't cause burn.  Defiantly a good buy.
I stood in line for four hours. They better give me a Wal-Mart gift card, or something.  - Rodney Booker, Job Fair attendee.

I use disposable razors. eletric razors don't give me a close enough shave.
