Sweet. Why did you get such a high end PSU for a pretty low power PC? You could power 4 GT200s and a horde of HDDs with that PSU.

Well, I got a rough estimate on how much power I needed off enermax PSU calculator.

4 High power LED fans, 3 normal fans. 1 Audio card, 1 DvD/CD RW, 1 OC'd i7, 3 sticks of RAM, 2 normal HDD's, 1 SSD, and about 4 USB devices constantly plugged in. And of course the GPU. It said 515 Watt, I know it probably put it higher than it is. And the actual watts used would be lower, but honestly I think 520 could be slightly limiting for the rape I want this computer to do for years to come. As you can see, I like my expensive stuff(not as much as you do )

But I'm contemplating a nice Sli GF100 when it comes, will have to see how things go. So I taught may aswell change the PSU, it wasn't too expensive and the 520HX should sell for about €60(might be going on ebay, but have to find out if baggs wants it first). It's in perfect condition.

Edit: Praise for the Sata power cables for actually allowing me to mound my HDD tray on the bottom

Ah! Ty All I needed to use was an extra 4 pin connecter for the audio card/cathodes. The rest are still in the long box in the pic.

The weirdest thing just happened. One of the white cathodes stopped working, then 5 mins later the red ones I ordered arrived.

Oh and max I totally agree! The HX 850 was said to me, but honestly.. Ever since that Panzer nub(so it's his fault) showed me the PSU I fell in love with it, I been thinking about buying it for a few months now. Only now did I muster the courage to do it

I try to optimize for performance/$. Don't really have any crazy components that are just expensive and don't add much to performance. Just a lot of them

I'm running 2 GT200s, 1 G92, an i7 and 10 HDDs off a TX750. I could still hook up a fair bit of hardware more to it. Used to run 2 GTX295s, a G92 and an i7 off one of them.

But the point is, it will last him a long time before he has to upgrade to a more powerful one. If you can afford it, there's no point in getting smaller PSU's just to say you can run a small PSU. Might as well go big and stay ahead of the game.

Buy nice or buy twice.

The thing is...if you're buying a high end rig you want all the components to be high end - for example, I got a 1000w psu for 2 reasons, 1 - because it's a high end power supply! and 2 - so it is more futureproof.

I know I'd probably be fine with a 650w but that's not the point!
