Damn, Kerry, that's fucked. Hope you're alright.

Hardened criminals... Was it your personal truck? Well, since the fucker used a gun during the commission of a felony, its a mandatory 20 years. I really hope they catch the assholes. I suspect they tossed the ID -kinda a liability. You unlisted? Change the locks yet? You'll be OK. Has TPD been any help to you or updated ya on anything?Kmarion wrote:
This guy was far from starving. About 5'10 and well over 220 lbs. He didn't just want my truck. He wanted my wallet. He was very obnoxious about the whole situation, just the way he said, "go on get your wallet"... like I owed him my wallet. The tone is hard to describe on a forum.
I did not sense any remorse or reluctance at all. The police told me that sometimes gangs do this type of stuff as part of their initiation. I remembered yesterday that my Fedex ID was in there when they left. They have my keys and a picture ID. awsm

Anything like that always does.Kmarion wrote:
Don't kid yourself it does weigh on you, and you'll be second guessing things. Playing Monday morning qb I am. I'll save the therapy for people who really need it. Talking about it with a few friends over a couple of beers is good nuff.
I am more serious about this topic than anyone that suggests the robber was the victim, and that he was "merely trying to pay his bills", or he was stealing to feed his starving kids". Listening to you bleeding hearts, I get the impression that I am one of the few that takes this seriously enough to consider the CRIMINAL was ACTUALLY the CRIMINAL.burnzz wrote:

Just because the section is called "Debate and serious talk" doesn't mean there has to be a goddamn debate in every thread. This is a serious talk thread, much more serious than a lot of the other shit out there. FFS leave the debate out of it.

Noooooooooo, it was suggested that the criminal was a victim, that he was just trying to pay his bills, or feed his starving kids, I called them out on it. There is nothing more to discuss here, regarding the issue, unless of course, someone is going to step up and claim that it is fucked up that Kmarion did not get shot barring that we are all pretty much in agreement.FatherTed wrote:

Actually I will thank you to quote my entire sentence, and what I said was, there is nothing more to discuss here, unless someone actually thought Kmarion should have been shot.burnzz wrote:

I was the helper. Since I'm quite experienced in the area (13 years prior at UPS) they were able to actually provide me with my own vehicle. It's more effective than having "a jumper", someone that just rides along to run packages to the door. Volume has picked up, but as of Tuesday it still had not reached peak levels.cpt.fass1 wrote:
Fed-ex should not be having one man trucks running during the holidays. It's as simple as that, granted he had a gun and the other guy might not have mattered, but it might have detered him.
Yeah and it makes sense. I'm just assuming but those guys probably worked at fedex at one point so they knew how to identify. Also the areas were they're are really poor people right next to rich brings alot of crime around this time..Kmarion wrote:
It was theirs, a white virtually unmarked van. I think that is what made me an easier target. I delivered in that area for years prior and was never even approached. I was also driving a big brown truck back then that wasn't even an automatic. Tougher to drive, easy to identify. They were much harder to get away with. The detective told me today that criminals go after those white vans because they are so generic. The next time you go out on the road count the number of white work vans. They are everywhere.
I think I will be. I'm still getting calls from, fedex, detectives, and insurance companies.cpt.fass1 wrote:

Lets see if the police can do anything, are you going to be kept in the loop?
