voip not working

After I'm in a squad, I can't communicate with the b or v key even when Im the leader. No radio comes up. I did not change my key settings. In fact I reinstalled bf2. I have a great headset from Plantronics with mike. Any ideas ???

Is the server you are selecting supporting VoIP?

Yes, because my team I play with is able to use voip, when I can't.

It's probably a bug.

For me the following happens sometimes.

1) Even if I hear other people on VOIP I can't talk. However sometimes is does work so I know that my settings are correct.

2) Before the patch at least I had to have my VOIP turned OFF and then it worked. If it was turned ON it didn't. B

BF2 is FUBARed.

i also ran into this problem just recently. i was using onboard sound from my motherboard and had set BF2's audio to be "hardware" instead of "software." for one reason or another, i tried switching it to "software" mode and all is well now. give that a try.

Found the answer to my own question, hope this may help others out there. All I did was change my hardware acceleration to basic acceleration. A bug in BF2 or 97 Audio 6.1

Go and update your sound card driver. I have an onboard realtek AC97 and my Voip was turning off part way through my first round I would turn it back on and then again it would turn off. I went to the EA Forums and found that EA recommended you download the newest sound card drivers.

I thought I found the answer to my problem, but looks like you did. Thanks.
That fixed 100% of the problem. Updating the software is a no brainer and to think I almost reformated my computer, that would have SUCKED.
