Bought an EVGA 8800GTS 512MB as temp card. It will basically sit in my PC till I have more time to play (exams, work and going to Asia for 2 weeks etc.). And maybe Fermi gets out by then...
ATi cards simply put suck about 120Hz. Not the only issue with them tbh... I hope Fermi will serve me better!

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
Bagsy the middle one.
Goddamnit max, now I need a new pair of underwear.
Just you wait till the Fermi is out. Then I am needing new closet full of underwear if he gets more Femis than me...Sydney wrote:

Nicely done! Welcome to the club!
On a somewhat related note, I bought these for a tenner at a thrift store the other day:
Nice German 70's build quality, SEAS drivers and all. 8" woofer and 1" dome. Nice sound and nice condition, I think they're going to reside in the bedroom, together with all most of my other vintage home speakers. They're the exact opposite of the Tandbergs I usually use there, being a bit drawn back on the high midrange and more linear over all.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
ddr RAM
150GB VelociRaptor
^^^ Nooo!
Why didn't you get an SSD?!

The cost compared to a decent sized SSD
Don't tell me you bought Velociraptor for storage?Silverberg wrote:

lol no. Wanted a performance increase from my ageing drive that i had. This will have OS and the few games that i play on it. Posting it didnt seem such a bad idea at the time lol
If you're just putting a little stuff on it, a 64GB SSD would work out far better.Silverberg wrote:
