Thanks for all the info ;D
it's the major thing they've taken from the gameplay.
to be honest miggle 95% of my games are fine for lag/connection issues. the matchmaking works. it works better for me than, say, Left 4 Dead's match-making EVER worked, after constant patches and updates and router-changes at my end. no one cried about the fact that L4D didn't have a server-browser as default (ignoring the hit and miss console-engine browser). yes, yes, IW made some calamitous and really quite disrespectful design decisions when it came to the PC gaming community- unforgivable, without reason, damn shit. but the game is still fun. the system they implemented instead still works. like i said, it's not MW1 and in fact it's not much like any other popular FPS game... perhaps that is because it is console-inspired. but it's still fun. remove your expectations, drop the prejudiced boycott bullshit and give it a blast. play as it is meant to be played: as a carefree, public, shoot-em-up/spray-n-pray FPS game with your steam friends in a nice little party. im one of the most arrogant, elitist pricks ever when it comes to 'serious' FPS gaming... this aint it. as i said earlier in this thread: "mindless fun". now please do us all a favour and quit the mindless whining.

It was either that or write "Download finished, installing nao " but I felt this was a bit more personal. I did it just for you, Uzique. <3Uzique wrote:

that's the point. we don't care that you've finished pirating it.
wouldn't it be a bit annoying if i wrote in the 'Music' forum everytime an album finished downloading? just to advertise the fact THAT OMG I JUST PIRATED SOMETHING TEE HEE HEE. i'd have a post-count of 20,000 and a fanbase of zero.

i'm sure if it wasn't actually possible to pirate a PC game we would see PC games at console prices but software houses always argue that the piracy is what increases game prices. which is all bullshit really, the game should be the same price no matter what format. PC games will always be cheaper due to competition against piracy.

Well all I know (because of my broken cutscenes) is this.
- I'm a private just into the army in some dusty country on top of a humvee. After some fighting i'm apparently chosen for a tip top secret mission with an ultra secret branch of military (Why on earth..? Surely there are tens of thousands of people better qualified?).
- I then pretend to be russian and shoot lots of civilians. If I try to shoot the russians, even if I get all of them in an instant, I spontaneously die and my cover is blown. After slaughtering lots of russian civs my cover is blown anyway and i die.
- So then i'm in some icy, snowy russian base and we infiltrate the base and pick up... something.
- Then, because a bullet was from Brazil, we go to brazil (was this before or after the invasion I can't remember). We capture (who I assume is) the guy who made the bullet (because the guy who makes bullets obviously knows the big plan).
- Then russia invades america for some reason. Ok. Well. I go to Burger King and meet some other americans. I can't remember any actual plot points there except we fought off the russians (makes sense since they're invading).
- Back in Brazil you leave Brazil.
- You fight in america some more down some streets and find a man dead in a house. He had some sort of briefcase.
- Then you attack a captured oilrig and rescue the hostages.
- Then (amazingly without a trip back to america first) you go to a castle. You meet Price and leave the castle.
- Then Washington DC is under attack.
That's as far as i've gotten to, and that's literally all I know so far. Can someone fill in the blanks for me? Tell me whats actually going on?
-We don't know how Makarov knows Allen is undercover, leaving a dead American at the scene of carnage is enough evidence for the ultranationalists to go mental and wage war with the US
-Soap and Roach are tasked to retrieve an ACS Module, (some sort of satellite component used to detect enemy hardware/presence) We're not told how the Russian are able to down the satellite (the jet engine looking thing that soap tinkers with in the hanger)
-The forensic evidence from the bullets from the airport point towards a Brazilian arms dealer Alex the Red who supplied munitions for the Airport Massacre. 141 know Alex the Red is the only lead they have to the whereabouts of Makarov so off to Brazil they go.
-The burger king section is to rescue a high value individual codenamed 'raptor', we're not told who the guy is and why he is important. Then rest of this stage is just filler imo playing with predator drones etc.
-Intel is gleaned from Alex the red regarding prisoner 627, Soap et al only priority now is to leave Brazil by any means necessary. Command can't help for whatever reason, hence Nikolai is called in.
- Fighting in the streets of Arcadia with the Stryker (Honey Badger) is more filler, who the guy in the panic room is and the significance of the briefcase i have no idea.
-The oil rigs serve as SAM sites protecting the east coast of Russia, the hostages are nothing more than meat shields. They have to be taken out so the initial air assault on the gulag can go ahead.
-DC is under attack is simply a continuance with Foley to fight the commies on the east coast (this is later expanded when price decides to 'snuff out the fire')
The main story is Soap's gang going around the globe, the fighting in the US is just useless filler.
As you can tell SP is really disjointed...

Nah, man. People who pirate and think they are like cool or hip for stealing are obnoxious to me. I'll admit that I dl movies and music, but videogames are sacred to me. Also, I just dont think STEALING is something you should be proud of and Finray flaunts it all the time.Ioan92 wrote:

i thought the single-player was pretty good. pretty much all you could expect from a call of duty campaign. they're not as cohesive and self-contained as the previous games' storylines were, but that's clearly just because they're aiming for a 2-3 part cinematic epic here. im sure the story will make more sense when we've paid our extra share of £££ for DLC booster packs and future sequels
