I saw it at a car show a few years ago when digital cameras were only just beginning to be used, I had one and took a picture of the numberplate that was supposed to be coated on one side with the spray. The salesman was showing to a group of people at his stand. It looked almost exactly the same on both sides, the people looked at my camera and then the salesman looked at me with an angry face. but radar detectors tend to not really work/help you detect cops or confuse them(with scrambler).. .. they tend to make you look more guilty when you get pulled over(he peeps in - 'oh i see - you think you can outsmart me!') and are more of a guarantee that you will get a ticket and not just a warning
