You have to learn the rules of the game and then you have to play better than anyone else.

$150, maybe a geforce 5200 256mb lol
That's memory, not a core clock. Even the 7900GTX doesn't have a 1GHz core.Maj.Do wrote:
i say get a 6800, theres some pretty good priced ones on newegg.com

this 1 is suppose to have a 1000mhz clock looks pretty good,
dont buy an ati X8XX card, there like 9XXX cards with more pipes and faster clocks

You'd be insane to expect a 6800 to play the next Far Cry at nominal detail. Sure, you could get an even framerate from setting the detail down, but who wants that out of a next-gen title?Evil-fruits|ST4R wrote:
i have a 6200 turbo cache used to be a good card but now its utter crap iwas thinking 7600gt but apartly a 6800 sounds good from all of you but will it play the new farcry when that comes out as thats gunna be my new game.

2nd and 3rd card ??
thx i didnt understand that part. Also save up for a 7900gt or 7800gt, there pretty good cards, and maybe it might be able to play Crysis in the futureunnamednewbie13 wrote:

By all means, go for the G80.
7900gt is the most bang for the buck card out therefon|sl4y3r wrote:
hm, I dont think a 6800GT is the best choice atm... The GPU is based on G43 and also the "last" cards of brands like asus, gigabyte and stuff are way to expensive for the performance you get by those. Have a look on 7600GT (yet not tested by myself) or 7800GT... A good 7800GT should cost about 270-300 €uro and will fit your requierments almost enough
I have just replaced my 6200 turbocache, with an ATI X1800XT 512Mb. 3Dmark06 jumped from 822 points to nigh on 4000. Little bit out of your price range, I paid £250. Got it from Overclockers UK. Helpful people in the forum, (well, some are, but its like that anywhere;) ), and quick and easy to shop on.Evil-fruits|ST4R wrote:
