He's just a fairly emotional guy. Not a fake...just emotional. And it is annoying.rammunition wrote:

btw, why has Glenn Beck lately been "crying" in all his shows. He is a nobhead and a proper fake. He is just as bad as her.
he actually gives shit to both parties... probably the only real honest person left.... i know he seems nuts and maybe he is...rammunition wrote:

Who would you say is on the wittier side?Kmarion wrote:
Had a backstage pass for over a year. Went to his Christmas show, and I have his books the real America and the Christmas sweater on audiobook. I also had a Fusion subscription for some time.
Beck isn't very intelligent imo. He is however entertaining. What he does he does for the response his critics eagerly give to him. He's no racist, but he has said some things that can be looked as racist. Listen to him regularly and you will know. He has a devoted following and some of them understand that his "I'm going to lose my mind outburst" is nothing more than shtick.
But again, not the wittiest person on the radio.
You know it.Poseidon wrote:

I'm pretty sure she doesn't actually believe in communism but just looks to Mao as an inspiration for what he was able to accomplish and his own inner strength. That is what I got out of it.[TUF]Catbox wrote:

She was speaking to high school students. Don't you think it is a bit odd to be telling high schoolers to look to Mao for inspiration in fighting your own battles?Macbeth wrote:

His stuff is always "available" the day after online. I can give you some of his recent stuff... I'll look through me gig's of him .LividBovine wrote:

It appears he is on my local conservative station AT 3-4 am.
Sorta, but he did accomplish a lot. Sure she could have used somebody else but the odds were stacked against Mao to the point where it was a great accomplishment.LividBovine wrote:

Using Mao to inspire a generation is just wrong. .. despite the odds he faced.Macbeth wrote:

Thinking about it though, I really don't see all the fuss, I doubt any of the students are going to give up their ipods and cellphone to become die hard communist just because Mao had a good quote that they heard from a speaker.
Like I said I don't think anyone is going to go out and become a full blown communist after this one speech at the same time even though it's considered "wrong" to use him to inspire people I don't see the damage done by a single speech in the middle of suburban America. Nobody died, banks didn't go under, forest didn't burn. It was just a pointless speech, IMO.Kmarion wrote:

No one is claiming any of the end of the world examples you provided. This isn't excatly front page news. However, it was still inescapably wrong. The question is this lady's mentality.. not did she just jump start Armageddon?Macbeth wrote:

Nobody claimed that here sure, but the majority of Fox viewers and paranoid extreme right wingers would look at this and say she is spreading communism but yeah I guess I am just straw manning.Kmarion wrote:

It's a very shallow view you have, imo. Naturally if you are singling out an individual you should look at his entire character and the goals they strived for.. Hitler, Mao Tse-Tung, whoever..Macbeth wrote:

However I don't see how it is wrong to look at somebody who accomplished a lot and say that they were a great example of strength and determination.
I don't think it is "wrong" to do that and I don't see how a speech even if morally wrong has any great repercussions that she should lose her job, which is what Glen is shooting for.
By that same logic you could totally discount the entire lives work of Elvis because he did drugs or MJ because he touched kids and so on and on.Kmarion wrote:

Sure they should not be role models, if there is indisputable evidence to back it up. The murder of millions isn't excatly an apples to apples comparison. Elvis killed himself.Macbeth wrote:
