glocks have always been love em or hate em. i've always been gay for em so meh. as for the m9, my dad has one so i can shoot that when ever i want. don't really like the feel of the m9 as well. i would love a HK USP in .45 but i don't want to spend that kind of money. fucking germans and their expensive shit.

My point exactly. If you pull the trigger "by accident" the gun will still fire. I don't call that a safety.

The thing is -- it comes INSTEAD of a regular safety. There is no way to set a Glock 17 on 'safe'.

The safety is keep your finger off the trigger. No matter what firearm you are handling the rule always applies. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. Most modern firearms have internal safeties that prevent the firearm from firing if dropped.

For a carry pistol I prefer no manual safeties. I know how to handle the firearm safely as anyone who carries should. If I need to fire my pistol in defense, I want to pull and shoot. No flipping off safeties or racking the slide. Plus manual safeties can work loose or have other problems over time. Its just one more thing to go wrong IMO. I usually prefer DA/SA (Double Action / Single Action) triggers for my carry pistol. The first trigger pull is longer and harder with all additional shots being shorter and lighter.
