The reason Chicago lost was there bid was seen as not good enough simple & they obviously didn't give the judges very good backhanders when they visited the city.

Oh who is this crack pot anyway a bit of background for those that don't know him would be good ta.

You dumbass, welcome to Friday.
I'm saying his anger, outrage and everything else felt fake and forced and all together came off as crazy to some and to me as extremely weak.

Exactly, I think Levin takes a kick in nuts from a liberal before airing so he's nice and pissed before he begins ranting.  It's hilarious though, I enjoy listening to him just for his comments.

Levin would do a better talk show if he wasn't pitching his book every other segment.

the problem with the Rush, Hannity and Ingrams is that they stood quietly while Bush made a complete mess of everything.

I wasn't listening to Rush at the time, but Hannity did speak up about some of the stuff Bush was doing.  In fact he considers himself a Conservative first and a Republican second...only supporting Republicans that are honestly Conservative.

Rush, I recall during the campaign, refused to vote for McCain.

Glen Beck though has been the most vocal and active (didn't he get like 2 Obama Czars to leave?).  He also has the fastest growing audience.  His move from CNN to Fox facilitated that.

I've heard that the reasons for chicago not getting the olympics was a rater arrogant appearance to the olympic commitee and the fact that the US is still holding the biggest parts of the advertising rights, which means they get most of the advertising money, no matter where the games take place.

Obama screwed up by going to Copenhagen without being sure the US was going to get the Olympics... His arrogance was his downfall...
He was trying to hook up all his buddies in Chicago like Cheney did with Haliburton...  meet the new boss.... same as the old boss

If you can get past Levin's annoying voice and abusive tactics, his Constitutional arguments are pretty interesting.

But then, it requires one to listen and not just react.

The IOC has better judgement than letting a visiting president decide who gets the olympics ...

Thank fuck it wasn't in the US (or North America). They've had enough Olympics. It's never even been in South America. It's about time. It couldn't have gone to Madrid after being in Europe foe 2012. Tbh, Rio was probably the only City that would have ever won that bid. The US is going to have to wait a long time before it gets another Olympics.

I find this ironic.

Chicago did not give very good backhanders...for the first time in history

I never thought Chicago had a chance at the Olympics bid anyway. The International Olympic Committee knows that the Unied States frequently hosts the Olympic Games wheras Brazil, in fact the whole of South America has never hosted an Olympic Games. It's a simple factor of spreading it around.

Got to love the collective schadenfreude from the anti-Obama brigade. The city of Chicago itself had more impact on the IOC's decision than he did as the nation's head of state, why is this being put down to a "Obama failure"?

It must take nothing short of a genius to get people to swallow this kind of junk. I cannot believe that he managed to fully disregard all of the criteria involved in IOC's decision, and assign the "blame" for Chicago's loss squarely on a person whose presence was at best a trivial side-note in the process.

It isn't that Rio de Janeiro had a better bid. It isn't that recent Olympic history spoke against a North American bid. IOC's decision had nothing to do with IOC's criteria at all. It was all down to Obama being present.

How that doesn't come off to some people as arrogant bitterness, and how they don't recognise that this is but a topic of opportunity for this man to project a general disdain towards Obama is beyond me.

Team Obama/Oprah tried and failed, so what. If he hasn't gone, then we would be hearing Obama didn't try hard enough. I can't take Levin's high-pitch voice.

It was a smart move on Obama to at least try. Hosting the Olympics will boost local economy so how can you not do nothing to help.
Obama was a former Illinois Senator, IMO he put the people (in this case, people from IL) before himself.

And I thought Americans didn't care about the Olympcis calling it a facist sport created by communists /lowing.
