But can't people still change the email address? Or does that have to be verified too?

I reckon that should need verification as well.

The new email verification basically means that as long as you have your email secure, you can't lose your Steam account.

I'd be surprised if it did though, I mean most of the time people change their email address it's because they don't have access to the previous email anymore right?

Well in that case you contact support.

Besides, I've had the same email account since 2003. My Steam account feels far more secure now that I know changes can't be made to it without my email address's password as well.
