I see a lot of childish bickering in D&ST when it comes to the best form of government, or thinking one form is better than the other.

Do you believe there is a best best form of government that is suitable for all?

Do you believe the ethnic/religious/linguistic diversity of a country has any bearing on the form of government it can maintain?

Personally I say believe no. It infuriates when I hear my country wanting to change the government of another. Personally I think a dictatorship sometimes is a good fit (dictator =/= evil). I do feel the ethic makeup has a huge bearing, especially if it a result of recent immigration.

Nope, there is not.

You will always have earners pinned up against non-earners who think the earners owe them something, and that it is govts job to steal it for them

In the long term there is only one ethnicity.

A key component in a successful government is it's ability to maintain social freedoms. It has to protect each individual's unalienable rights, should certain ethnic customs encroach upon them, but otherwise it should allow cultures to work on their own as they wish and together in harmony or face the consequences. The difference in culture lies in the success of the state, when the governments are comparatively equal.

I realize this is imposing some of my personal morals on other cultures, but frankly when it comes to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, I am content with being a bigot. In all other facets of society the government should play such a small role that it can be nearly cookie-cutter from place to place.

Absolutely not. Everyone has their own idea of what the perfect government should or could be and that's how it should be. In fact, I believe we need more competition in the world when it comes to government types so people can choose which they wish to live under. Same for US state governments.

It makes me really angry that the current US Government is trying to 'Europeanize' so much. If I wanted to live in Europe I would. Let me have options damnit.

I think there may be differences in how a "good" government is implemented. I'm pretty happy with the idea of a representative republic. Now, I think differences like population density, urbanization, education levels, and general wealth will affect the exact nature of how a place is governed.

(I'm a utilitarian-libertarian, i.e. libertarian unless you can prove a program has a net positive effect on society without unduly infringing on personal rights.)
