Is there any more news on Ferrari, potentially fielding three cars next season? Think that be a great idea, even if other teams where to do it, as a sort of proving ground for up and coming drivers since testing is banned. I doubt it be much more expensive, unless you are running three superstar drivers (in terms of there salaries).
No chance of that. Right now there's 14 teams for the 2010 season and FIA/F1M are trying to allow next season to be 28 cars (current limit is 26) on the Grid as there are 4 new teams + Sauber which just found a buyer recently and has been awarded 14th slot.Bell wrote:

F1 2010 is going to be bigger than ever!
I hope they do get a 28 car grid confirmed, that would be so awesome. There's alot of new teams though, there's an outside chance a few will run with only one car. But probably not.
And even if it got to a stage where teams would be allowed to field a third car to fill up the grid then the third car wouldn't count for anything in terms of points

So from what I gathered from that. Either they're banned forever, but it'll only come in place at the end of the 2011 season. OR, they're going to be banned for two years, starting from the end of 2011 onwards.
But Alonso and Piquet have been cleared. Piquet's F1 career is over though unless his dad makes an F1 team and throws him in.

No Mek, the ban is for the next two years, but because Briatore and Symonds had left already, the FIA felt that the damage had been done and they got the ban suspended.
So basically Renault got away.
McLaren got a similar kind of thing done to them earlier on in the year with liargate, they got a suspended two race ban, which means the ban got suspended because the guys at McLaren who were responsible (except Lewis) were sacked, so the damage had been done already.

Yeah, they could've worded it better. It's basically probation for two years now. As F1 technical put it.
so renault's new team principle will be the technical director, Bob Bell. The loss of Symonds in gonna hurt a lot, but Bell has got a lot of history.
