I think not. Matter of fact I think it is stupid. But, lets see what you think.
I think it's dumb, and people who do it are dumb.
Nascar

def not...fishing, on the other hand, is
Anything can be classified as a sport if enough people want it so. I don't really think it is. And I think the only reason some people go out and shoot stuff is because they like shooting stuff and they like using guns. Of course you get lots of excuses as to why they're doing it, but at the end of the day, they only do it because they enjoy it. But whatever, that's their problem.
Then again, I don't see why you have people who hate hunting so much, yet these same people have no problem eating meat that comes from farms which slaughter hundreds of animals a day. It's kinda stupid to only care about certain animals. Like Deer and Wales, pets like Cats and dogs etc.. yet you can be fine with the mass slaughter of cows, pigs and chickens etc..

how so? i have nothing against hunting; i just dont consider it a sport. you arent competing against anyone, and its not really too physical. poker is more of a sport than hunting is imoSEREMAKER wrote:
Yes ........... a sport of course
1. its not for everyone ...... just like pokers not for everyone, nascars not for everyone
2. skill ..... not everyone can pickup up a remington 700 .308 and put down a whitetail at 500 yards
3. patience ....... try waiting 4-5 hours for that buck to present himself for a clean shot
4. tracking ....... its not just stomping off in the woods and expecting a deer to come bouncing right in front of you with a smile and a wink

well you could compete against others but cmon at a real sport you put some physical effort in. But then there's chess...ph1shman420 wrote:

I think I'd probably put them in the same category.ph1shman420 wrote:

That category being: not really a sport
well fishing has competitions, and it's definitely physical. hunting has neither afaik
@sere: i understand all that; i still dont think its a sport though. id classify it as an activity

as long as they eat what they shoot i aint got no problem with hunting. Or what is being shot is a pest so good riddance.
and i consider it a sport. Requies patience and skill....and all other type of hunting shit i don't know about.
look if snooker and darts are sports then so is hunting.

Blackbelts are just whitebelts who have never quit.
Hunting with your bare hands (or simple tools) then eating your kill raw is a sport.
I'd say hunting is a sport. And who says there's no competition in hunting? Of course there is. You can say the same thing about racing.

It's mans way to connect with his primal survival instincts. Rather than the modern ones that tell him to microwave a breakfast burrito every morning.
Nomadic survival has been bastardized into a sport.

hey gaiz, poker is a sport
But really, I found something that gives poker a very good reason to be a sport.

Not a sport, a skill maybe.
Since
- Its not done competitively
- The hunter is not on equal terms with the hunted
