Which one is better, the Jackhammer or the DAO-12? I could go for the L85, but I like my shotties :]

Edit: Jackhammer seems to be rather uncontrollable, from what I've seen. While the DAO is constantly owning me on maps like BP, but the reloading, as stated by roaringjet, is hell.

Also, my experience with the DAO is that if you have a ping over 70 it will take the whole magazine before a guy at point blank drops, just like burst fire weapons

Jackhammer doesn't suffer for this, and you can just fire 2 shots at close range and nothing survives that.

Pump shotty's and even the Saiga own both shotgun unlocks. I'd pick the DAO of the two options for the simple fact that there is no need for the Jackhammer due to it being inferior to all standard engi. weapons. DAO gives ya an A/T shotty too, great for Blue Pearl.

Plus jackhammer is great for mass murdering.

Pump shotguns, I try to avoid them. They wont always kill with 1 shot especially against assault/support/at guys (have shot at non moving assault guy at point blank and he surived ), and if you miss your most likely dead in 1vs1

I love love looooooove my pump shotties, but between the unlocks, I'd say DAO-12. With the auto-shotguns, I have a tendency to unload a bit crazily, and since the DAO has a bigger clip... Although it's very inaccurate and jumps a lot, which is why I like the pumps. I'm forced to line my shots up carefully and not fire unless I've got the enemy lined up; no more spraying.

To all the "lol DAO have fun reloading" - DAO has twelve rounds of approximately the same effectiveness. If it takes three rounds of each to kill someone, you don't have to reload all 12 as you would the jackhammer, you only have to put three shells back in. That doesn't take a long time at all. Now if you unload the whole thing, you either suck or you just killed 3 people. So yeah, you're probably going to spend 10 seconds reloading - but you can't very reasonably kill 3 people with one clip of the jackhammer either.

Both have their uses.

Generally, the DAO is a better unlock whether you play IO or vehicles. The AT rocket is a ranged weapon (which the engy kit doesn't have besides the pistol) which instakills on a hit, making one less enemy ticket shock paddles can't bring back. Coupled with the DAOs 12 round drum - in which you can slip in a few extra shells between kills, making it more of a 15-20 round drum - it is quite possible to face off squads by yourself.
The jackhammer is a different beast, with a bit more power per shot then the DAO but with a smaller mag. It also has a set fire rate, meaning that although it gives out less damage per second then the Saiga/DAO, the problem of emptying the gun in a panic isn't as big an issue. It's also a solid unlock if you like playing SAS in special forces.
