If you didn't see it, he broadcast a live feed of the lottery on BBC1 and turned around his numbers just after it was finished.

Oh and he tells us how he did it on friday, which will inevitably be stupidly hard or lucky, or.. just a trick, which is likely, I'm very intrigued to find out how he did it, I've no doubt this was just a very well put together illusion, however it was very well done.

I bet it's a simple trick with the balls, I mean why did he even use the white balls to show them? He could have used an actual lottery ticket and only shown the back of it until after the draw or something. Then he could have even donated to charity or something.

And that whole thing about he "wasn't allowed to show them before the draw" seemed like a cop out to me, any douche can go on the TV and guess what they will be.

I mean obviously he isn't psychic or something, but I bet it was just a simple thing he did with the balls.

What's the bet you're American and never heard of Derren Brown? He's a truth artist, and never claims to have super powers, he's completely open with his techniques and has done things like this numerous times before, it's his job.

You can't predict the lotto. I don't care how much of a "truth" artist he is (whatever that means), the probability for the lotto to hit a certain set of numbers in unison is so astronomically high that it can't be done.

He is a brilliantly talented person performing his illusions through "magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection and showmanship", not petty camera tricks and TV editing.

He isn't claiming that he can really predict the lottery without fail every and any week he wants, however he will have an extremely impressive system in which he has correctly had these numbers in front of him. He doesn't claim clairvoyance, and afaik has never used any camera tricks or anything else to achieve the desired effect for the viewer.

So his whole "system" is witholding information from the viewer and contestants, and this is supposed to be magical illusionist psychology? It's virtually the same as camera 'tricks' and editing - you are only giving the viewer certain information. Sorry, I don't find that compelling at all, nor particularly hard.
