There's not really any point trying to reason with them...and as long as people are willing to pay for hacks, people will keep updating them.
It would violate the ToS of all hacks (erm..ones with reasonably smart coders/owners) for any PB employee to buy the hacks-the hack sites would be able to sue them and effectively put them out of business from lawsuits.H3RB4L ABU53 wrote:
I thought there were only a few hack sites though, maybe the hacks get updated a lot or something I don't know, artificial aiming seems to be a really popular one people always spam that in big text on chat, surely all PB have to do is get the hacks themselves and block the programs that are running?
I really can't believe how people aren't bored of hacking though it's pointless you're not even playing the game
God if I had some hacking skill I swear Id do all in my power to damage hacking sites, crash them, give out subscribers info to public and just generally destroy the whole domains. That would be fun to watch. Afaik 187ci (the leading hax site) was under this sort of attack just lately?
They're all always under some sort of attack that just makes the members go around crashing and spamming more shit on servers.RoaringJet[FIN] wrote:

Your 12 year old school yard antics would have little to no effect and only cause more trouble.
Im quite sure that if you were to close their site or something it would cause more than just little effect. Especially if there's just 1 guy looking over the whole website.
And whats up with DICE/EA not being able to sue the hacking sites, example of this would be when Blizzard Entertainment sued a 3rd party botting company which later got shut down and cut the amount of cheaters to maybe half.

Your talking about Glider (AKA - MMOGlider). Ya I can't see why Dice/EA can't bring suit against hack sites/publishers. I couldn't believe when looking for tips on youtube about the TV guided missiles from attack choppers that there is an aimbot for that, unbelievable. FPS hackers are the worst scum though by far. If BLizzard can shut down a leveling bot then Dice/EA should at least make efforts to clean its game up.RoaringJet[FIN] wrote:

Ptfo
Yeah because it's not like the average hack site gets DDoS'd monthly and goes down for a weekend or two as a result.RoaringJet[FIN] wrote:

If EA/DICE had the legal power to shut down hack sites, then that would make mods to the game illegal also.RoaringJet[FIN] wrote:

Nothing illegal with mods that follow ToU, or what are you on about?Doctor Strangelove wrote:

I'm on that hacks and mods are essentially the same thing, and that if EA/DICE were to word the game's EULA in such a way that they could prosecute hack makes, then it would also allow them to do the same to makers of legitimate mods.RoaringJet[FIN] wrote:

I'm not saying that, I'm just saying nerdraging over it is pointless, give out subscribers info to public? public wouldn't give a shit, just forum heroes
I was a moderator on a pretty large game hacking site, doesn't make me a horrible person or a bad gamer, some people need to learn to chill.

Couldn't they just put it in the installation terms; "If you use any third party software to aid your aiming, allow you to see enemies through walls or give any unfair advantage over the opposition then we'll sue you" yada yada?
Yea hackers might find it fun but it ruins everyone elses game when they're all playing properly, if you're hiding somewhere or doing well in a game, it's hardly fair if someone just stands there and holds left click and kills everyone instantly- which is why people rage about it, why should everyone in a server not have fun just for the sake of 1 greedy cheater with no skill at all, if hackers really do find it that hard to play the game normally then why don't they just give up gaming, I know the point of it is to piss people off and it works, but it's pointless it's like playing a single player game and entering a code to see the final credits- wheres the fun in that? If hackers want to get satisfaction out of pissing people off properly then they shouldn't be buying pre made hacks they should learn how to actually hack but I suppose that's way out of their leagueI'm Jamesey wrote:

I'm sick of this talk about reg/no reg. I know better reg does exist but tbh if you aim correctly your bullets will hit 80% of the time.
How do you explain the success of 100% reg shitters like Tigershark then? Reg does vary a fucklot and "aiming correctly" will not make bad reg good. Of course you can learn where the hitboxes are but dustshots on prone, steady guys can not be corrected by "aiming correctly".Oisín<3 wrote:

Don't you get sick of blaming death after death on 'bad-reg'? The game is fucked mate, especially when regarding infantry only. Perhaps it's time to try some conquest
I didn't think dustshots were much of a problem in 1.41 it hardly happened, it must be a minority of people who get really bad reg as even in 1.41 I never met a single person who had a problem with their bullets hitting me.
I have had dustshots too where someones standing still and even 3 or 4 times shooting their head from point blank it makes dust, but not very often, in general I get normal reg like everyone else seems to, even if a few bullets dont register still doesnt make it hard to kill if you have better aim then them

In 1.41 I could tell a lot of the time when I was hit with a dust shot. You'd hear the bullet hit you, and see the a dust cloud on your screen but take no dmg. Doesn't happen any more.
Well, there is an inherent difference between someone that codes the hacks and someone that just uses them. To the coder, he gets more thrill and rush out of beating a system like punkbuster and being able to see the fruit of his works succeed. It's less about the stat gain or pissing people off and more the thrill of getting away with something.H3RB4L ABU53 wrote:

The people that use hacks and aimbots etc and just use the work of others are the people that usually just suck at the game and cheat to improve their stats etc.
I'm not condoning hacking by any means. I neither use nor have coded hacks/cheats myself but I have been exposed to their way of thinking during my lifetime. I have a cousin that used to write TOSers and phishers etc for AOL back in it's heyday. Sure, it's deplorable and he was raided by the FBI and had his computer confiscated when he was a teenager but it was less about doing harm to others and more about seeing what he could do with code. Now he writes legal software as a profession
"Ah, you miserable creatures! You who think that you are so great! You who judge humanity to be so small! You who wish to reform everything! Why don't you reform yourselves? That task would be sufficient enough."

what about when you don't get a chance to aim correctly because some irish guy is randomly spamming single fire and headshotting you across the map?Oisín<3 wrote:
