Since I've gone back to BF2 for the 1.5 patch, I've become less and less interested in CoD4. Because it was my first FPS really, (as I was WAY to young to get good at BF2, let alone have a decent enough computer for it) I just n0l1f3d on it until I was good at it, and took it as the perfect game. But I'm realising now all the stuff Uzique has been saying about it, comparing it to CoD1/2, (which I played after CoD4 btw). The guns are, yes, repetative and easily mastered. But, IW don't care about making a good game, so long as the console retards can jump in and play it easily, they'll make money, and that's all they really care about isn't it? Shame really, with CoD1/2/BF2 gameplay on Crysis graphics, woulda been pretty awesome.
I accept your resignation.Finray wrote:

From.. the debate?.. that started with a mis-understanding about recoil, that you derailed to something I already agreed with about the standard of games dropping recently?
woah, that didn't happen at all.Finray wrote:

I argued with Poseidon over the quality of games on the previous page, and I argued with you over the skill involved in using weapons in VCoD vs CoD4, neither was derailed.
I see mention of recoiless weapons in CoD4. The weapons in the main CoD series have no recoil either. They all function like railguns. Just aim down the sights and click. So there's no point in complaining about the recoiless weapons in CoD4.
Grab an MP44 in vCOD and hold down left click with the iron sights up.firebolt5 wrote:

Nooo, I argued with you about the recoil of the MP5 and the M4. I already agreed with the fact the games in whole have changed dramatically.Miggle wrote:

Whoa baby...I have to slightly pull the mouse down...the mark of a pro game has been discovered
Shit man lately I've gotten into <game> and I realized...man, it's for scrubs. I mean, all you have to do is push the trigger and bam you kill the enemy. Takes no skill. I'm going back to pong, those guys knew how to make a good game. Later Console naabs

I'm sure I haven't said anything about that today, could you find me a quote where I did?Finray wrote:

What I was trying to say with the MP5/M4 argument is that all the weapons in cod4 handle pretty much the same, if you can use one you can use them all, and anybody can use one because they're all easy as fuck.
This thread makes me laugh.

Shock paddles are a lot more fun, I rarely use the knife. In the new map Operation Blue Pearl I can run around with the paddles out and still get kills no problem, it's actually a lot of fun.Finray wrote:
Look at Battlefield, knifing is still a very "lol you got pwnt" thing, because you have to select the knife, aim it at your target, get close enough and then pray the reg actually works for once.
As for the argument of what requires "skill" and what doesn't, who cares? CoD4 wasn't made for the vCoD and CoD 2 playerbase, it was made for Xbox 360 controllers. It's an entirely different game that has it's own style of play, and IW dropped it's steep learning curve for a pickup-and-play type approach, with laser guns skinned as modern weapons and gimmicky perks to make people feel like they're worth their while. And you know why? Because it sells. Like it or not, CoD4 is an incredibly successful game that has a huge amount of fanboy discharge all over it, and WaW has followed suit. And by the looks of MWII, it doesn't seem like they've changed the formula much.

Oh gosh, he pulled the "Hurr i r real life fightar games don't compare" card. Of course they're not serious fucking business compared to real life. If I wanted to get as serious as that I'd go enlist. It's competative, that's why it's serious, not because you could realistically get your head blown apart.Red Forman wrote:

It's 'serious business' because it's competitive.

If you win, you could get put into more major competitions, where cash prizes of K's are handed out.Red Forman wrote:
