My friend has this problem, except with Tequila. He did a load of it one night and threw up for ages.

It is a psychological problem. You have associated hard liquor with extremely bad times.

on a serious note, sorry I was drunk posting last night
forget the hardstuff. your friends knows it makes you sick and from now on they will spike your drinks with double the alcohol. (this is what we used to do to newbs.) If you insist on drinking "hard" stuff. Try flavored vodka, perhaps make an infusion of your own. (Just dont do what we did and eat the strawberries after, its fucking poison!!!) Do not do shots! Try mixed drinks like, white russians, screwdrivers etc, using little bits of alcohol until you build your tolerance up. I know many people who can drink their faces off and doing shots only leads to 1 upping, and than puking and than alcoholism. remember, one shot can ruin an entire night of drinking if it doesnt settle properly. If your friends are continuing to be dicks and insisting you drink hard stuff you can always become the "beer expert" of your group and sample and compare different types of beer, and encourage them to drink the ones that you really like. Just dont drink pussy beer stuff like smirnoffs and mikes hard lemonade or twisted tea. I mean after all, your friends know you puke next time just puke all over them, I can guarantee they wont pressure you to drink the hard stuff ever again! Inevetible you will drink enough beer get drunk and end up doing shots. Just dont overdo it and start drinking the liqour like the beer you will regret it. Some nights I can do shots, Jack Daniels, Jagermeister, SouthernComfort (my favorite), Dr. McGillicutty's (everyones favorite, Mint not Vanilla). Yeah, J20 is what most non drinkers drink. I call it the Muslim drink because you always see them drinking it.
