As part of Update 1.50 we are glad to announce that not only is Highway Tampa now a required install included in the update but Euro Forces (Great Wall, Taraba Quarry and Operation Smoke Screen) and Armored Fury (Midnight Sun, Operation Harvest and Operation Road Rage) is now FREE for all Battlefield 2 players. Including the brand new map, Operation Blue Pearl this brings EIGHT new maps that everyone can play and will be added to ranked Battlefield 2 servers world wide. The Booster Pack content is included in the update and has made the file just over 2Gb in size.

Well there it is. We all saw it coming I think but it's great news nonetheless. As someone that bought both the booster packs, this is excellent excellent news, because it means at last i'll be able to actually play them. At the moment there are never any servers. But now, since everybody has them and wants to play them, there will be loads of servers .

Can't wait.

Don't complain this is great news. I payed back then too but I'm very glad they're free now. It means the maps will start showing up in regular server rotations and we'll be able to actually play them.

1.5 is ONLY incremental. You need 1.41

The new patching sequence for full BF2 (including SF and both boosters) will just be:

BF2, SF, 1.41, 1.5

A normal BF2 map takes under 10 seconds to load for me if I've already loaded another map before.

I hope this problem gets fixed. I get kicked every time by PB during the verification stage since I load up the map faster then the server.

Alt+tabbing slows it down just enough, and now I find out that alt+tab might cause the game to freeze. :s

Even though I've already got AF and EF, I'm glad they're including it so that other people can play it. Maybe there will be some more populated booster servers out there! AF is definitely one of my favorites, I love the engineer kit, and the maps in AF are sweet (Harvest <3).
Also glad to see they've kept with the times and are going to allow bf2.exe to use more than 2GB of RAM. I've only got 4 GB of RAM, which may not seem like much these days, but still, I've rarely ever actually used all 4.
