I don't have a joystick, so use keyboard only. It has its limitations, but am still better then most.

Joystick is useless, keyboard + mouse will do just as fine as joystick. There is nothing you can do with joystic that you couldnt do with a mouse + keyboard.
Joystick, I have the http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Logitech-Force-3D … 286.c0.m14 and had It for a few years and never had a worry, I assigned most of the buttons for things like map, squad talk, camera view, vent speak ect and also it auto lines up to centre once you stabilise. When your In a dog fight with someone flying with a mouser and keyboards you can tell straight away, LAMBS TO THE FUCKING SLAUGHTER

I've been using the Top Gun Afterburner with Force Feedback for years now. Ignore the people (RoaringJet[FIN]) who tell you a mouse and keyboard is good enough to fly. Those are the chumps that I blast out of the sky. You can tweak a keyboard to perfectly that once you enter a plane, you'll be nearly invincible. Smart button programming and increased sensitivity are key. You can do some really sick maneuvers that a mouse and keyboard can't do.
This game is a simulator. Fly with a stick, not a mouse. Would you play a racing game with a keyboard instead of a wheel?

I use the thrustmaster Hotas Cougar`s and they are great, but a bit pricy of the only game you are going to use them in is BF2.

The incredible nuesense of moving your mouse over and over from the up down, up down, is a very valid reason to buy a joystick
