Is it time for the Soldier to get an Update? That would be awesome if that's the case!

I'd rather see Demoman/Engi update done in a similar way that Spy/Sniper was handled.
That blogpost is all that the development team have been up to, since the last forever? Kicking out < 10 avatars that anyone could easily make in Photoshop, from in-game screenshots? Are you fucking kidding me...

Hey, it gives me extra faces to use in my AU Crew sigs, I'm not complaining.
Would be nice for a little more info on what's coming up though.

You're hard to please. We know you would've preferred an epic poem. The Scout update to Sniper/Spy update was ~3 months and Heavy to Scout was even more time.Uzique wrote:

Yes those avatars are literally the only thing they've been working on. New class update, new maps, the seemingly useless trading system, expanding the item finding system, bug fixes and the last 2 meet the team videos are old news.Uzique wrote:

These days they just make avatars.
But seriously yeah. You know they're working on loads at the moment and they just don't have anything thats ready to announce yet. They figured we've been left without info for a while so they did one of their filler blog posts with some amusing writing and something non-game but still TF2 related included. You know this already so why complain?
IRT I love the Engineer one. That's one massive cheesy grin right there.
You know I would have preferred some epic poem? Are you even fucking trying to troll, or are you just shitting out utter diarrhea onto the page? Don't be a silly prick, you're useless.DesertFox- wrote:

Sorry for not finding a blog-post that essentially unveiled 9 Photoshop images as talk-worthy and exciting. Some of you Valve fanboys really lap up everything they do, huh? Even the writing and satirical 'This is how men act, rah rah rah' bullshit was uninspired and plainly not funny. The post author attacks asinine things such as Twitter and the 'youth of today', whilst Valve use Twitter constantly themselves and rely on the Web2.0-obsessed, tech-geek, gaming youth of today for 90% of their revenue. Poor comedy from a writing perspective and a material perspective. Fail. Give me an actual fucking content update, for once. Please.

Wow, now I know why you piss people off online, because the responses are quite funny.
However, as I said, you shouldn't be expecting a "fucking content update" so soon.

That's the joke, he's using a blog to write it.Uzique wrote:

Anyway it wasn't that part that made me laugh, it was the stuff about defending hills. I found it funny because in WWII people spent a lot of time defending hills, but it sounds like such a strange thing to do these days. Anyway i'd hardly say I was 'lapping it up'. It made me laugh once and I won't read it again. It's just nice to get a confirmation that they still exist while they're working on the big stuff. Also, yes we don't have a content update yet but Valve are slow, this isn't news to anyone. And at this point complaining about Valve being slow is like complaining about water being wet.
Oh apparently the consiracy theories about King of the Hill that arose from the soldier talking about defending hills may not be all rubbish after all, the SDK apparently has it listed as a game-mode:
Maybe it's always been there I dunno. Take it for what you will. Oh some on SUF say it's always been there.

Soldier's writing on the blog an awful lot. I wonder whose update pack will be next?

Has already been stated by Yoda from an unnamed source that Soldier is next. I think it was Yoda anyway.
As I was hoping for Demo and Engy next with Soldier last.

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

Also, go on the swamp theme link. It looks awesome.

We've been shirking our updating duties here, so we thought it'd be a good time to do some quick housekeeping:
We recieved a bunch of positive responses to the release of the .vmf source behind our official TF2 maps. As a result, we've decided to go ahead and release the source behind all the player character models, as well as associated animations. We hope this will make it much easier for custom modellers to design new character models, and for machinima makers to have more control over how characters animate in their movies. Look for that SDK update in the next week or so.
The folks over at tf2maps are running a new competition to make a map using their nifty new Swamp Theme. Go take a look, maybe you'll make a popular map and we'll end up knocking on your door asking to include it in the next TF2 update.
We've been super impressed by Waar's detailed post on the forums describing how to get into the more competitive side of TF2. If you think you're reaching the point where you're ready for more of a challenge, check it out.

Yeah I noticed it at the time (I check my RSS often, how could I miss it? ) but it was pretty boring for the average person so I didn't bother posting it (ie had no new information in it at all). I'd also seen the swamp theme a few days previously on the Steam Forums so it was nothing new to me. But yes I agree it is awesome.

Just a quick post to say there's a nice interesting blog post about the making of koth_Viaduct with some timelapse videos of the map in various stages of its production.
It's worth taking a look at
This point ain't gonna cap itself!

I think this is what Robin was talking there. I lol'd.The SourceOP guys keep working away on their nifty TF2 Backpack Viewer. It's great if you ever wanted to see what items your buddies are toting around. Or if you wanted to see Gabe's weapon that bans your Steam account if he kills you with it.
