A little disappointed with the movie though, I think they did a shit job with Adrian. In the comic you didn't see it coming that was the villain. Everyone that saw the movie and didn't read the comic guessed he was the villain based on his behavior.

I would have also loved if they had shown Adrian's first fight with the Comedian which the Comedian kicked his ass. But that's just me.

I was always suspicious of Adrian... but not aware of what exactly his plan was.

There is a program that lets you view comics on your computer and there are torrents of the watchmen comic around that are formatted to play with the program would you like a link to one?

When I first started hanging around DAST I told a friend that he should register and come participate.. this friend, extremely intelligent, great debater. He told me, "Screw that, it's only going to piss you off"... he was obviously smarter than me.

Thanks for the offer, but I find it excruciatingly painful and difficult to 'read' for any significant duration or engagement on a laptop/PC screen. I need something tangible with pages that turn .

One of my friends has the collected printed-book edition of all the comic strips; I think I'll borrow it off him for a few days!

And for now, I'm done reading essays on Fitzgerald and Henry Brooks Adams... onto another member of the Lost Generation, going to tuck into a 4am novel by Hemingway .

I learned this after I spent $400 on a kindle. It's not bad, I get ebooks delivered instantly and at a discount. But I still prefer books. The feel, the smell, the o' fuck I lost my place. It's terrific.

Riveting isn't it, old chap?

Plus, a marvelous book collection - a library of fine classics - is so much more satisfying and collectible, when compared to a folder of .pdf files or whatever other format you get your Kindle documents / eBooks in!

Eh music isn't really isn't an area of high interest for me, so I mainly keep to the same stuff. Hell I'm still listening to New Maps of Hell while I wait for Interpol's fourth album.

i couldn't imagine, reading a Stephen King on a cold winter night, on a kindle. The Old Man and the Sea would lose a little something too.

Ooooh definitely!

Although I'm fancying A Farewell to Arms at the moment - last week I read Robert Graves' Goodbye to All That and I'm on a bit of a war-literature bender. Sunny days spent outside reading Lost Generation literature and rainy days spent inside watching the History channel on WWI/II... yeah, being back at home is pretty rock and roll, even when I'm not out partying .

'zique, is it this http://www.history.com/]history channel? it is awsum - i was watching that a coupla weeks ago, and an advert for Time/Life books video about WWII comes on. i said out loud "now that would be something i'd want to see" and my wife said nothing.

last week, a shrink wrapped set of four dvd's showed up in the mail. my wife was like 'who me?'

Yeah, that's the channel. The only television I ever watch really is a mix of Discovery/National Geographic/History Channel etc. It is all really interesting, even if they do repeat and recycle their programmes and schedules a lot (over here in the UK/Europe, anyway). I'm not surprised your wife is largely uninterested though, haha, I can't say any of my female partners have ever been so inclined, either.

Ah. I swear I've watched every episode of American Chopper, Deadliest Catch and Mythbusters about 10 times over. Disc. Science is a really good channel, too, I agree - love all the universe shows they have on there, and the engineering/aircraft shows are always pretty damn interesting. My family worry about me whenever I watch the History channel, though, because approx. 87% of all TV they ever broadcast is about Hitler / The Reich. Every time someone comes in the room I'm watching black and white footage of Hitler speeches. I should probably try and explain...
