No f' that.  It is all Bush's fault.  Obama is merely cleaning up his and the mess that Repubs created.

Scary thing is he said that is what he expects conservatives to do, get out of the way.

She is saying that she isn't keeping records of what people are sending in, because an admin keeping records of citizens is illegal. She goes on to say that all of what is sent in is deleted (not being kept as a record)- But it's illegal for an administration to delete archives... Therefore, either way, [email protected] isn't legal.

but then again, what do you expect from a "Czar" of communications. shady.

Well, in the case of conservatives, being against oppressive governmental measures.

Of course, method must have been joking, because conservatives still support the Patriot Act.

What exactly is oppressive about it? Who has been oppressed because of it?

You don't find the allowance of continual observation by the government to be oppressive?

You don't find the negating of warrant requirements for searches to be oppressive?

If that were occurring, then maybe.

Alternatively, I find people who don't let small things like their lack of understanding of the law they are decrying stand in their way...tiresome.

Nixon did something like this (kept records about war protesters but then the Supreme Court shot it down), in the 70s and earlier before him during the Second Red Scare in the United States.

So the Patriot Act was exactly like that, then?

People need to get some education on not just the provisions of the Patriot Act, but also the governing US Code that was not in any way altered by the Patriot Act.

Nice condescension there.

So again, no searches without warrants have been occurring?  I just want to make sure I have you on record as saying that.

Point to domestic searches without warrants that have been occurring outside of a terrorism investigation...using our intelligence services.
