i just got a new monitor, 24 inch with a max res of 1920x1080. i had trouble getting the game to start but got that sorted with help on here.
my problem now is that the game looks like crap. in video settings i have everything set to ''high'' but cant get the AA settings to stick I.E. 2x 4x or 8x. i had help before with the AA settings but i lost the link, it had something to do with editing a file with notepad and entering 8. before that i would use my vid card control panel and set AA and AF and the game looked good. now that doesnt even work. i even tried different drivers with no luck. something else thats weird is my previous monitor(a 24 inch max res of 1920x1200) play the game great and in video settings i could set the game to 1600x1200 or something like that, with the new monitor the max is 1280x1024. please help it's been 2 days since i have played

Okay, is the monitor always at 1280x1024? Or just when you start up BF2?

bf2 can't do 1920x1080 without modifying your shortcut.

Reinstall your graphics drivers perhaps. Also get this http://imk.cx/pc/widescreenfixer/ so you can run the game in widescreen instead of 4:3

To edit the AA settings manually, open My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\-profile number here-\Video.con in notepad and set the line

Code:

VideoSettings.setAntialiasing
to

Code:

VideoSettings.setAntialiasing 8Samples

or he could just change the target in his shortcut to

Code:

"C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1.15 +widescreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1080

you guys f-ing rock. i got the AA sorted out and even though the max res in the video options is 1280x1024 it still looks good with the 8AA. i am trying to get the WS fixer going, i followed the directions to a T but when the game is running it wont apply the fix. it see's the game running but when i hit the default button(the asterik) to start the fix nothing happens. also when i edit the on/off button is it just as simple as entering the numbers I.E. 106 for the semi-colon
