It's the first song on his mix, but the only one on Youtube, unfortunately. Not a lot is going on because the ideas and motifs are being mixed in and hinted at, which only become apparent later on in the album's progression, as you start to realize his utter genius as he drops same-tempo bass-drops from entirely different artists into the wall of sound, dragging your aural senses right back to track 1, 20 minutes earlier...

Maybe I'm too analytical about music, but I definitely think there's a lot that is overlooked about the subtlety of the craft. With electronic music, where the possibilities and capabilities allow 'musicians' to make their songs as intricately complex and as cluttered as they desire, it's often about what isn't there as well as what is there in the music. Minimal, dub(step), techno and lots of other sub-genres take a lot from that creative and artistic approach.

I agree, but I do think the genre is overwhelmingly flooded with lame remixes whenever something even slightly popular stands out.

I mean take NiN for exmple, a great band in their own right. And you might like the song Survivalism. Have a listen to the countless remixes of the same song, and it quickly kills the unique quality of the original without adding anything new to the music world. That's just one example, from a song everybody should know.

Jesus H. Christ... has anyone here heard the fantastic 'Uproot' by dj / rupture? It's possibly the most eclectic, sonically-perfect and well-mixed project I have ever listened to; it combines just about every single genre from music and mashes them together in the most smooth-flowing progression of music ever put to vinyl. It just flows from afro-dub to concrete techno to all out vocal ballads and then back to subversive, heavy decibel drum and bass, and then over to rock-sampling and heavy clashes. It's not a tacky, thoughtless 'mash-up' album, either. It's a really well synthesized concept album, combining everything in a way that makes it sound like a sample-heavy, melodically-rich tapestry, as opposed to just some unimaginative layering of popular songs in typical mash-up style.

Youtube has a few links but nothing streamable really does justice to the absolutely impeccable attention paid to sound and balance:

That evoked pretty much no emotional response from me.

I'm in an acoustic guitar mood..

He must be young, I had the same thing happen when I was 15. It was fuckin' awesome to say the least, mostly because I had never dealt with mammaries of that magnitude before (D's).

Fairly well, working lots, drinking lots, and visiting lots of friends before my trip to Brazil. I've booked tickets and all for the month of August and hopefully staying with my sister won't reflect our childhood together. I'll also be meeting her boyfriend for the first time, and having spoken to him over the phone only twice I hope he's not as big an asshole as I think.

Hope your Summer has been good, the weather is kind of a flying drop-kick to the face for us though, huh?

Well a couple days ago I found out that one of my best friends from high school disappeared off the face of the fucking planet. He boarded a bus and vanished. Kinda fucked up because it wasn't like him to do that shit. The bus was headed from Houston BC to Prince Rupert BC(my hometown) and its a dead end from there. No where else to go except ferry and plane. The police think he was abducted which is fucked now that I think about it.

I should be out at the moment. In the city, for one of my friends birthdays (her birthday was actually last week, btu this was an excuse to go to some clubs and shit). However, recently my only pair of "i can wear these to the city and actually get into clubs" shoes have died. Now this friend usually helps me out when I'm buying clothes/shoes. I ask and ask about helping me find some shoes, but nothing happens. Come today, she's busy - apparently playing PS3 all day is more important than having one of her friends come out fer her birthday.

And before you get all "why can't you buy shoes on your own", the reason I need to take someone along is because I'm somewhat colourblind. Red-green.. so I have trouble with red/green/oranges/browns. This doesn't bode too well for the shopping experience.

I really hate people sometimes..*

Indeed It's been great watching them get bigger and bigger. She wouldn't even believe me that they had grown.
