Found this on another site.  Thought I would share because all of the hype around this game and it was supposed to utilize multiple cores.  Seems like Remedy Entertainment may be ready to push this out the door and maybe, just guessing, close the doors.

Yes since this announcement it is not going to be on the PC.  I always thought that it was going to come to the PC as well.

I thought the whole point of Alan Wake was to push the PC to it's limit. Anyone else remember the tech demos? The dude was saying "yeah you'll NEED four cores to be able to handle this."

I was only really interested in Alan Wake due to the stunning visuals, obviously they've dimmed them down a bit. The story seemed interesting enough, I liked the idea of a thriller-type video game as opposed to an action game. Oh well, guess I won't get to play it now.

why for the 360 only? Most of out PC's have way way more power then a 360 most probably beat the PS3 by a long shot. I am disappointed in this I was really hoping to get it for PC

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the adventure genre fit nicely onto the PC? The only thing I can think of is that they might've had too many issues with cross-hardware compatibility and, with development time stretching out, decided to perfect it for one console instead.

It was going to come out on the PC according to earlier news, if I'm not mistaken.

Ya, it looks like it was originally supposed to come out on the PC.

Check platforms at the bottom of the video.

I dunno how to feel about it...it looks good but it's not really my area of interest when it comes to games.

Yeah I remember that. I know I said to myself I'm upgrading to quad when the game is released. Why has this become xbox exclusive now?

O i see, we are counting PC as part of the exclusive/nonexclusive stuff then. Ok then, 360 has virtually no exclusive games if thats the case.

I think the PS3 has it's own version of this type of "game" anyway, called "Heavy Rain" - I've seen the trailers and the "gameplay" for this game, it honestly looks more like an interactive movie. Some seriously boring shit.

Funny how everyone including the media complain about quick time events in video games, and then this game comes along, which is almost exclusively quick time events, and suddenly it's "awesome" and "refreshing"

I mean it's all idiocy

I dunno how similar Alan Wake might be, but it looks like that sort of game too

Yeah, I don't really get the fuss over Heavy Rain besides the graphics tbh.

Alan Wake's got shooting n'stuff IIRC but still really doesn't appeal to me

Almost 200 counts as vitually none?

Games like Forza 2+3, Project Gotham 3+4, Halo 3, Fable 2, Ace Combat 6....

How is halo 3, fable 2, etc counted as exclusive? They WILL come out on PC at some point.

Also there are only 75 exclusives on the 360. Im sure I along with many other people consider the exclusive bullshit that is waved around a console thing. When talking exclusive I don't even consider the PC.

Wikipedia even distinguishes exclusive to include PC games hence why they then mention console exclusive.

"here are currently 698 (exclusive: 113; multiplatform: 510; console exclusive: 75) games"

I don't see why this was moved to consoles. Sure, it's X360 now, but it used to be for the PC too, and many people who were anticipating it were going to get it on the PC.

Because they have a set period before they are allowed to be ported. On top of that, you have nothing to say they will come out on PC at some point, other than the fact the previous versions have done.

There are not only 75 exclusive titles on the 360. Here is a list from Wikipedia.

There are 174 titles on that list. Not 75.

Their definition of an Xbox exclusive is:
Video games in this category have been released exclusively on the Xbox 360, and are not available for purchase or download on other video game consoles, personal computers, or mobile devices. The only exception to this rule is when a game has been ported from the arcade directly to the 360 and no other system.
So they do not distinguish to include PC games.

Basically, none of what you've just said is true.

I was wrong and yet still a lot closer, 113 exclusive games, not 200 and not 174.

So yeah, basically not that many exclusives if your not counting PC/360 games.

This exclusive shit really boggles my mind.

If it only comes out on PC, it's PC exclusive
If it only comes out on Xbox360, it's Xbox360 exclusive
If it only comes out on PS3, it's PS3 exclusive

Is there more to it than that?

No. It's 174.

Pages in category "Xbox 360-only games"

The following 174 pages are in this category, out of 174 total. This list may not reflect recent changes
Your list excludes a number of games - which are still 360 exclusive.

Whether or not some games will come out for the PC (not that I expect many of them to - numerous titles have missed out on very obvious ports, the Forza series being a decent example) is irrelevant. They are currently exclusive to the 360.

lol, that list has every single game on the 360, even games not yet released. So no its not missing any. Please name some of these "missed" games.

No they are effectively timed exclusives. Very different from being exclusive.

Bert something you need to realise is that I don't care. "Im sure I along with many other people consider the exclusive bullshit that is waved around a console thing. When talking exclusive I don't even consider the PC." My original claim that it was always exclusive was wrong, the number of exclusive 360 games if we are discounting PC/360 games is only 113 games, which is a lot less than the 190 it would be if we were including them.

Yes it is.

'Splosion Man being the 1st. 1 Vs. 100 being the 2nd. That's 2 before even reaching the "A's".

Also, a timed exclusive IS an exclusive. Ace Combat 6 was supposed to be a timed exclusive, yet 2 years on it's not available for any other platforms....
