Dropped 13% in Ohio

The approval rating for The Greatest President In History has been trending south lately. And the pace is accelerating. According to Rasmussen, he just hit his lowest negative rating to date:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 32% of the nation’s voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-seven percent (37%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of –5.

The number who strongly disapprove inched up another point to the highest level measured to date and the overall Approval Index is at the lowest level yet for Obama.

Decline, descent, dip, dive, downslide, downswing, downtrend, downturn, drop-off, fall, nosedive, plunge, skid, slide, slump, tumble. Call it what you want. We are witnessing the decline and fall of the Obama Empire.

I see, so their frustration is misguided now that Obama is responsible, yet was dead on when Bush was in office.  Yeah nothing wrong with that inconsistency.

Well its not like Mcain would been nice to have with sara phalin.

Then he did pick up at the worst time and the bailout money he gave out wasn't really used for the purpose of saving the country but saving the company leaders salary.

It is much worse than it appears.

Small business and the middle class are being decimated. A continuation of pointless wars in the ME will compound it, as will amnesty, as will the failure of healthcare for all and more phony stimulus money.

I should note that Rasmussen polling is problematic. It is consistently an outlier as regards other outfits.

http://mediamatters.org/blog/200907070015
The surveys seem to exist solely to advance GOP talking points. Meaning, Rasmussen at times appears to function less as a legitimate polling firm and more as the polling wing of the RNC. Today's new survey about Sarah Palin and the repercussions of her "No mas" moment is a perfectly example.

I have not problem with the actual results per se, which are that 40 percent of Republicans think her quitting the Alaska governorship will hurt her chances to run for the White House in 2012. The bizarre part is that the Rasmussen poll only asks Republican voters their opinion about Palin. Independents and Democrats are of no interest to the GOP-centric Rasmussen. (Just my hunch, but if those two voter groups had been included, I'm guessing the final results would have between 70-80 percent of voters think Palin's career move was a bad one.)
If you look at the generic ballot polls for Rasmussen on RCP they consistently show Republicans in winning a generic ballot in congressional races
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls … e-901.html

No other outfit is even close to those results. Most show a dem lead of 8-9 pts.

My guess is that Rasmussen oversamples self-identified republicans when conducting polls, with the expected results.

Big surprise...

The economy didn't turn around in a month.  His foreign policy decisions are still being criticized.  "His" congress passed the largest spending in history...etc...

Give it some time... He has only just begun to wreck the economy... you have to be patient.
His popularity is dropping and even people on the left are asking questions now...
We are a moderate country and he is not what people voted for...  It's too bad the republicans
are such pussies at this point, other than 1 or 2 of them.

Congress and the president passed the $410 billion omnibus "stimulus" bill, with its 9,000 earmarks (despite the fact that during his campaign, Obama said he would be against earmarks).

More politicians with tax evasion problems have been appointed to the Obama Cabinet than were appointed to any previous president's Cabinet (despite the fact that he said his administration would perform the "most sweeping ethics reform in history").

Obama appointed (and Congress confirmed) David Ogden, a defender of child pornography, to the No. 2 position in the Justice Department.

Obama's newly appointed secretary of education, Arne Duncan, isn't likely to win the hearts of parents committed to private or home schooling. As he explained in a radio interview, "I'm a big believer in choice and competition, but I think we can do that within the public-school framework." (Mr. Duncan, great to hear you can articulate what you think, but will you represent "we the people" in your decisions? I hear you're a good man, so please don't abandon those of us who choose options other than public schools.)

Congress passed Obama's budget, increased taxes fall upon a larger number of small-business owners than once projected, which ultimately will discourage economic growth and penalize productivity. As Yale University professor Michael Graetz noted, "We're shooting ourselves in the foot economically by relying as heavily as we do on income taxes when the rest of the world relies on consumption taxes."

Despite its history of fraud, ACORN, that alleged political bastion of election neutrality, will participate in the 2010 census.

An executive order was signed for Gitmo to be closed, and the war on terror was reassigned as an "overseas contingency operation."

Pro-choice platforms and practices have been pushed in ways that America hasn't seen since the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling. Obama overturned the "Mexico City policy," thus allowing federal funds to support international family planning groups that provide abortions. Restrictions for federal funding for embryonic stem cell research have been lifted. And if the public doesn't fight immediately, the conscience clause will be rescinded. Parental rights are about to be handed over to the United Nations. And the Freedom of Choice Act is closing fast on the horizon.

Lol when are people going to realize that it is going to take years for us to truly know if Obama is a fuck up? I never really had an issue with Bush till I saw where his policy's got us.

Almost all of the issues with the country right now have nothing to do with Obama for fucks sake. Are any of you that ignorant to think things would be any different under McCain right now? C'mon even his changes wouldn't of had an effect yet.

But yeah lets keep throwing tea parties and pretend to be pissed when the same people didn't say shit when Bush was throwing money around.

Yes

I think he is generally going in the right direction ... he said himself that it would get worse before it got better and that it would take a long time to correct this because it was broken, broken real good ...

He have been making unpopular decissions since he took office and will continue to do so even if it costs him his second term as president ...

I guess I could see why a guy from a place that still has a monarchy would think that, I guess.

I know as much about King Harald V as you do about Obama and the direction he wants this country to go in.

If you knew anything about him you would know he has no real power ...

Care to make a real comment rather that trying to stir up yet another argument with yet another a coworker?

Varegg I believe most people here over estimate the power of the President as well. Although, Obama has a lot of help in Congress.
