Honestly if I had a choice between a stray dog and a lost child on which one to save, I would honestly take the kid or the sole reason that I would probably suffer consequences for not doing so. If their were no consequences I don't know what I would do. I would have to way the specific circumstances also, a puppy and an 90 year old, I would probably go with the puppy.
