What would you do to stop the illegal immigrants?

Hey guys, I searched this and didn't find anything. I've seen some interesting suggestions of ways to prevent illegal immigrants from crossing from Mexico into the United States.

If you were the President of the United States what would you do?

Personally I'd go with guards every 1 mile. Lets say 10 guards every 1 mile in a little "Base" with sophisticated motion sensors, infra red cameras and so on would do the job. The US-Mexico boarder is 2000 miles long. So that would mean 2000 bases and 2000x10 = 20'000 men. Now I'm sure we can scratch some off because of the terrain. Some areas would be impossible to get through because of the climate and terrain (hot deserts). For the urban areas where there's just a wall I would suggest much wider and taller walls. I don't know if there are any tunnels beneath them though so I don't know how effective that would be.

Or if there were bases every 2 miles you could reduce it to 1000 bases and 10'000 men. You just need really good cameras. Like what if you have 1 of the 10 guys always looking through thermal cameras at the boarder. Wouldn't you see something immediately shining really white or black? Then you go catch the guy and drop him off far into Mexico with a HMMWV (America has plenty of those trucks).

I don't know how much this would cost but that's how I'd go.

What are your ideas guys? Please keep them realistic (Even though I know people will say junk like, "Nukes tbh..." or something)

Would it make the illegals think twice if our boarder troops were to shoot on site? It's not very humane but I'm sure it would make people think twice if they knew they could get killed.

How much would it cost to get 1000 bases, 10'000 men, thermal equipment for all of them and HMMWVs and supplies for them?

I'm sure with the US's military budget that would be pocket change. But I'm sure Obama is more busy feeding and paying unemployed lazy bums who CBA to get a job and know they'll just be fed/paid for the rest of their lives.

Simple, each state that shares a border with Mexico, deploys an Army National Guard helicopter unit to cover their borders. Instead of all these dumbass bailouts and shitty obama plans, buy more Apaches. Give said apaches to Nat'l Guard units, Apaches run 24/7 patrols along the border. Anyone seen crossing the border not through a checkpoint, gets a face full of 30 mike mike, with some Flechette rockets thrown in for good measure. Case closed. After the mexicans get the point and stop crossing, we could step down the patrols, ship the apaches and associated units to afghanistan, and let the Taliban receive a good licking from the influx of extra gunships. From there, we take over the world. Or legalize pot.

And one of the things I'd do would be to try and stop the stuff that's keeping Mexico fucked up. It's a resource-rich country if I'm not mistaken, the problem is the corrupt government and drug cartels. I can't blame a lot of people who come here illegally... it's better than living in the heat of a major cartel vs. government war.

Troops with orders to shoot on site. Leave the bodies to rot where they are in order to deter further illegal immigration.

I'm sick of this pussy shit of capturing them, then letting them sit in an office, go through processing, etc. Very slow and costs taxpayers money. Ammo is much cheaper and sends a stronger message.

EDIT: And if that meant having to enter the armed forces in order to pull this idea off, I would be extremely happy and honored to do so. This is one cause I would definitely fight for and serve my country for.

Annex Mexico, now we only have a 500 mile border with Belize amd Guetemala to deal with. Then send the military down there to quell the violence (they did it in Iraq they could do it in Mexico).

But seriously, we have to invest in Mexico to help stabalize it. The better Mexicio is the lower number of illegals will want to come to the United States.

A wall would deter. Troops with a 'virtual fence' with UAVs, sensors, etc., would help deter illegals and drug traffic.

But really if we just do the following we could curtail illegals alot:

I-9 forms within 90 days (lets employers know who has a valid social security number; they must fire them or face $10,000 fine/month).
Illegals that are pulled over for a traffic ticket or arrested MUST be detained and transferred over to the Border Patrol. A database of illegals will be kept with biometric information. First offense, $500 and after that 6 months in jail and $5,000 fine)
with that 'insta-check' system check people coming into/out of the United States, cross check with Terrorist Watch List
Improve background checks of tourist visas (many people come here and overstay their visa), so increase the fines to $500 for failing to leave - give a 1 or 2 month grace period, and then if they still don't leave then put a warrant for their arrest with a $5,000 fine

That's just some ideas. Problem is Democrats want to make the illegals citizens because they tend to vote Democrat.

Now the question is should I, as a Hispanic, run for office...that's what Republicans need, a conservative minority on the ticket!
