I wasn't having a go at the car itself, only the styling, which is chavish, imo.
Someone might shoot me for this, but I think the 911 is one of the best car designs still being produced.
I like the 911. Quick, and apparently handles amazingly, sort of like one of those cars to throw around. But I find the Porsche design quite repetitive.

I don't get how Japanese modernism == chavvish.
Is this one of those really fucking annoying blanket-generalisations that people make, without having a clue? "Chav" cars = 1.2L hatchbacks with racing-strips, cheap rims, loud exhausts and a spoiler. A respectable import-Japanese sports-car that costs the same amount as a chav's housing-estate lair isn't really in the same category. No stereotypical chav cars resemble the 350Z in terms of looks, either.

Nissan makes the most exciting Jap cars of all their major manufacturers though. Toyota is shit, and Mitsubishi at least has the Lancer, but Honda is really lame since the NSX went out of production.

I don't dislike BMW, just they've completely sold out their own 'prestige, limited supply' brand by flooding the Western market with them. They're now cheap, not particularly spectacular, and have become the status-quo for any aspiring middle-class white-collar asshole. Audi's have a bit more sophistication, but are also becoming the new "businessman wanker" cars too. As Jens said (a little naively, but I get his point)- BMW's are just bland, boring 'everyday' cars now, they've sold themselves out, literally.
I still hold my opinion, after seeing one face-to-face and getting to sit in and feel the drive of the 350Z, that it's an awesome little sports car. Obviously not a supercar, but it's hella-fun and is a mean machine. Personally I do love the aesthetic style, I think the way it all slopes back to an angular, compressed back is gorgeous.
Completely sold out is an understatment Uz.
Edit: and not a single Mondeo. Mondeos are rarer than 3 series according to the walk I just had.

Although you don't see as many M models. In fact you see more AMG's than M's.SirSchloppy wrote:

Corsa B, think. Yeah, pretty sure. Opel (Vauxhall) Corsa. Probably a 1.0L, maybe a 1.2L if the owners welfare allowance stretched that far.TheBestYet wrote:

Ya, pulling up to my uncle's driveway today was the first time I've ever (memorably) seen a 350Z in real-life. It's unique, that's for sure, and looks a lot nicer in person, as most extravagantly-designed cars tend to do. Have to bear in mind when discussing that car that it's not a standard 350Z, in the same sense as we talk about 'standard' Audis, Porsches, BMW's, etc. It basically is the Japanese version of a BMW M-type. So, to conclude, pretty fucking mean. Not that I got to drive it or anything . Siigh, that's two nice cars in just as many weeks that I have sat in but not been able to spin!

god you bimmer vs beamer people. Its the same pronounciation. But the way it is pronounced the sensible way would be to spell it beamer. But the more commonly used spelling is bimmer
You're right when you say they're uniquee, you don't see many of thenm.Uzique wrote:

Aw hellll no, they're skeptical about buying me a 1.9 Fuckers! I barely ever drive, I'm not experienced enough for a mean-machine, tbh.

a 1.9's plenty fast for someone our age uzi.
focus 1.6 makes for a nice new drivers car.
