Is there are reason you want a 16:9, 1080p screen? I'm just wondering what to suggest.
I have one and they are good (especially if you watch alot of movies) but you should look at 16:10 as well....

I have a BenQ T2200HD and its a great little monitor (very cheap)

If you can stretch it by $20, get this. It's a steal for the price.

Samsung. Hanns-G and Acer aren't exactly known for quality.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

16:9 - because 16:10 just isn't good enough

I don't really care what ratio, just widescreen.

Change the CPU to Q9550, It just had big price cut. And get a nice cooler for it.

I must question the need for CF mobo if you get NVIDIA card. Asus P5Q would do just fine. (get the pro if its almost same priced tho).

Must be AU, but EU and USA dropped the prices.

Just quick comparison between stores and you find which one is ripping you off and which applied the price cut.

Newegg price on the q9550 went down some i think.

I was looking at the q9550, but at the price it was before, I couldn't quite afford it.

I was going q9400 because MicroCenter had it for 179 which was like $50 cheaper than newegg.

If you get a Q9550, just hope it's an E0. That's why I like my Q9650 so much, guaranteed E0. Makes going to 4Ghz so much easier.

Unless you get bad batch that can't even do 3.8Ghz easily...

Just keep in mind that if it's going to be used on a system that's being built principally for gaming, you might want to see if there is anything with a 2ms response time for that money.

5ms is still very good, but 2ms is now the competitive gaming standard.

The second one on there, the Asus, is great, my cousin has one. Personally I have a Samsung T220, but for that price range thats a great buy.

What would you suggest for HS/Fan for q9550 or q9650???

I might save up some more for the q9650 instead of the 9550

I just built a box with a q9400(180 bucks microcenter)/8800gtx/4gb  that i oc'd to 3.20... it's very fast and renders 3d stuff really quick... 95-100fps on bf2/2142
and it doesnt get hotter than 52 degrees... I have a really big antec 1080 case and lots of fans

I am going to pick up an Artic pro 7 cooler for 30 bucks soon though... the cooler the better...
you can install it without taking the motherboard out of the case...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6835186134
there are settings on my Gigabyte UD3P to oc to 3.2 3.4 and 3.6 with one click of a button... you can also change every setting imaginable in the bios if you want to do it yourself...

Don't get F7P for quad. It just isn't good enough for high TDP CPUs.

Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme with good fan / Noctua NH-U12P / that Xigmatec DU always suggests, don't remember it right now

i was alluding to the rather fast-paced change in widescreen monitors from 16:10 to 16:9 just because people fall for the "full 1080p!!!" thing.  movies are done in 16:9, but games are usually 16:10.  everything's moving to 16:9 though, so games are starting to abandon 16:10...
