Her travel plans are not topic worthy, her absence in a country that has no tolerance for women is the issue. You deny these Islamic ruled countries are intolerant. It would appear even Michelle wiould disagreeAussieReaper wrote:
She was in France before he arrived. She is staying in France after he leaves. Thus wherever Obama next shows up, she'll be a little late arriving.lowing wrote:
Ok so no Michelle in the ME, yet Michelle everywhere else Obama shows up... Ok yeah I guess intolerance of women is not the reason
Feel free to update this thread whenever Michelle's travel plans become topic worthy in the future.

You offered up Michelle Obama ... she is not an entire country last I checked ...lowing wrote:

Of course you don't care, really I don't care either, but as an observation to support my opinion the Islam is violent and intolerant based on the countries that have Islamic law as their foundation, I think this fact is telling. you are best to ignore it, or make fun of it, as I do not see any argument that can be made to suggest this was anything other than this countries views and intolerance toward women as the reason for her absence.
The issue here is how they treat their own female part of the population and it could be Michelle had other things to do than visit the ME for one day this time around or maybe she was there ... I don't know where she was and it really doesn't matter to me ... you are the one making a huge deal of this ...

Is that a fact that she wasn't in the ME, or are you just assuming so because you didn't see her? Does she accompany him on every trip he makes?lowing wrote:

Her plans for health care reform, the economy, education.
In fact, most US media were more concerned about her dress sense...
Considering the criticism that Hillary got for being so involved in Bill's administration, I would've thought conservatives would prefer Michelle to be less involved.
Maybe the girls were not going to miss classes ? Don't know, don't care.
Could not care less about First Mama, her dress or anything else including Chocolate Chip's two smaller chips nor the freakin dog.

so by all means do not address Saudi's treatment and intolerance of women, ya know, per Islamic law, and the fact that Michelle did not dare show her face ( literally ) in Saudi.
Actually I offered up the entire nation of Saudi and their Islamic Laws, I asked if this was the reason Michelle's conspicuous absence. you said no because you have a friend.................Varegg wrote:

Love is the answer
You'll get no argument from me that Saudi Arabia and much of the rest of the Middle East treats women like second class citizens (or worse), but Michelle's presence isn't relevant to Obama's. Did Laura accompany George everywhere during his presidency? I don't recall Laura always being with George in his various Middle Eastern visits.lowing wrote:

I know the point you're making, but I want to know if there's any truth to it in the slightest, and judging by your avoidance of the question there isn't.lowing wrote:

so by all means do not address Saudi's treatment and intolerance of women, ya know, per Islamic law, and the fact that Michelle did not dare show her face ( literally ) in Saudi.
I guess I missed it, what question? and if you know the point I am making why are YOU not addressing it?ghettoperson wrote:

add that fact to the question then, how can any of you claim intolerance is not part of Islamic law and Islamic life in Islamic rulled countries?Turquoise wrote:

Hey, I haven't argued against you on that one. Sexism is very prevalent in the Islamic World.lowing wrote:

Because if the two questions I asked aren't what you assumed them to be, then it renders your entire argument null and void.lowing wrote:

As it happens, I'm perfectly aware of the Saudi's attitudes to women, but I don't think that's why she wasn't there. After all, it's not like women are illegal in Saudi Arabia; Michelle being there would not be a problem, she'd just have to wear a veil.
That and given a choice of France or Saudi Arabia... Wtf would you pick? I'd take France tbh.ghettoperson wrote:
