I thought it's pretty common knowledge that Al Gore is really shit at saving energy. The former British Ambassador to the United States, Christopher Meyer, wrote in his memoirs about how long the helicopter used to idle with it's engines running when waiting for Gore when he was VP because he was always late, and fill the area with aviation fuel fumes. (the British Ambassadors residence is next door to the VP's)
