The site won't let me copy and paste, but basically, its saying that California should break up into 4 different states. They would be:

**The San Diego area

**The Los Angeles area

**San Francisco/ Sacramento /Santa Cruz / Silicon Valley area

**The Northern & Central Valley area (Napa, Santa Rosa, ect.)

I seriously doubt that this would ever happen, but the state is such a mess right now, it just might have to come down to this. Do you think this would work? Is this another stupid idea, or could it economically save CA?

I think splitting up texas into seperate states makes more sense (just like they agreed to when texas first entered the union)

Thats the thing lol. I don't think it would help personally. This is probably just another nut idea . Each state would get a share of the huge amount of debt, and would probably be a pain in the butt. But which would be better: the whole state economy collapsing (theoretically), or 4 states going their own way and only 2 or 1 collapsing?

The latter is better. Besides, it's not hard to see that certain parts of the state are more affluent than others. There's a lot of dead weight fiscally in Southern California and inland California.

Dakotas: Dakota Territory split in 2 when made states

The Carolinas began as the Province of Carolina (a British proprietary colony). They separated before the Revolutionary War.
