Have you opened up your computer to see if you can visibly see what is burned?

Opening PSU could void warrenty yes?

So don't do it if you want to RMA it.

Can you swap it with another psu?  It certainly sounds like a power issue, get your hands on a new psu ASAP!

Take the PSU out get a good sniff of it, if it smells burned then it's probably the problem.

Definitely sounds like a PSU problem in my opinion

It isn't exactly a highly recommended brand. Pull it out look for any visible signs, smell it. Only open the PSU if you don't want to RMA it, as it will most likely void any warranty

Any particular reason you need a 800w? personally i'd go for a smaller wattage but a better brand.

I would suggest going for this 520 HX Corsair.

Or, you could ask Panzer very nice if he'll give you his Enermax.

Enermax Modu82+ 525W/625W or Corsair HX520W/HX620W

Probably some shiat Fuyyjiu shits melted in the PSU.... wait they aren't even Fuyyjiu

"While I was inside the unit, I was curious to see what brand electrolytic capacitors are used, but they are unknown to me (SC or CS manufacturers mark) and a quick look on the internet proved fruitless."

But PLEASE check the caps and overall look of the motherboard too. My Nforce 4 SLi melted back in the days, worked fine cold but under load it blew up the PSUs.

Oh look! A random ching-chong PSU that's blown up! No way!
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

The former is actually more common, which kind of says something.

Why did u buy that BFG? It has got bad ratings and not even 8 pin PCI-E power connectors. You need to use adapters to run a HD 4870 on that PSU!

I hardly call that future-proof.... Obsolete PSU. You run in major troubles if u try to put some hw in ur pc that takes even 500w.

It doesn't even have PFC... Efficiency is not gonna be very good.

Ever heard of 8 pin PCI-E power connectors?

Its based on average and obsolete ToPower base with CapXon caps. I have one of these myself from 3 years ago. Not very nice.

Having only two PCI-E 6 pin connectors in 800w PSU is ridiculous. You need 6 them if u want to load the PSU even near 800w. and the fact the connectors aren't even 6+2pin only makes that worse, making you use adapters with any better gfx card.

So have a nice day too.
