Hiya. I made an album cover for my band. We haven't recorded it yet, but I figured I'd get a design done so I can start the website. Can you guys give me comments and criticisms for this?

It will probably have to be cropped on the right side to fit an album, but I think the general gist is there.

Nice. I like the colours.
But do you need the speed limit? I find it a bit excessive.
What did you use to make it?

i like it and the colors as well. but if you darken it a bit to get that sunset feel i think it might look more dramatic.

I may darken it a bit - had it too dark before, so I lightened it.
Made it in Photoshop with vectors of a photo I took a while back in California.

The speed limit was under the turn right sign. I may replace the vectors I used for the text on the speed sign with actual text though.

Playing around with the idea that you have to make a mistake before you can make the right choice.

I may just get rid of the lower part of the sign. The road markings are just to clarify that it is a road. I guess.

I know it's supposed to be a mountain side but try smoothing out the left rock wall. I think it'll fit better with the vector feel of the image.

Looks cool. But honestly, don't you want to do the artwork after you're finished making the music? An album cover should say something about the music that the listener is about to experience, not just a random picture that happens to look cool

We've written 6-7 songs already and have a lot of content still in the mix. We might release an EP, since two band members are moving to Canada, and we'll have to find replacements. Believe me, music is much more important to me than the image that gets slapped on it, but being a desiger and a perfectionist, I like to nail both ^^

The sign sticks out like a sore thumb. I understand its purpose, but maybe there is a way to simplify it to fit with everything else. Other than that... it's really boring (no offense). Being an artist who has been involved with helping musicians with similar projects I like to think the art should reflect the music and compliment it in a way. If you haven't already, research album covers.

Don;t like the bright sky, i'd prefer it to be darker than the mountains, road sign looks good, but out of place, put in on the left sie of the road like it's meant to be (I<3AU) and obv by making the sky darker, you'd have to make the text lighter, and maybe add vector silouettes of a concert on the right, very faint, but there... if you know what i mean, i agree with omni, it's very boring, nothing going on, If your creating album art, you want it to stand out, i mean look at Tripple J's album art...

Can you move the sign more closer, as in bigger.
And Maybe make Delirium thicker, just a little bolder.
let's see how that looks.

Other than that, I really like it for an album cover.

Just for kicks I opened it in Photoshop to check... half those colors will not print. They are way too saturated. Go read about "Print Safe Colors"

Haven't really worked out the whole printing stuff yet. Wanted to desaturate it anyway
