Did you actually read the source?

'Communication service providers (CSPs) will be asked to record internet contacts between people, but not the content, similar to the existing arrangements to log telephone contacts.'

I always thought that NSA system of logging any call that mentions specific words was fucked up. Meh, I don't know if they actually do it though. Seems to be mentioned by everybody as fact but who knows, maybe it's a myth.

Echelon spy network! (I've actually 'seen' some of the dishes and domes in that network, Pine Gap tbh, a few photos in Alice Springs of it)

I enjoy my privacy. I enjoy my internet. They go hand in hand. If i wanna search how to make a bomb, then i wanna search a floorplan and opening hours of the pentagon i can god damn do that.

But here me out, a combination of new 'domestic terrorist' "flags" (such as supporting a third party ACCORDING TO THE GOV!) and a monitored internet will be the demise of the first amendment and the ability to stand against a controlling government.

You really think the NSA don't already have systems in place doing just that?

A bit naive are we?

I can't in detail. The directive Bush passed allowing the inteligence agencies to do it is classified - so you don't even get to know what they're allowed to spy on!

Bush's Cyber Initiative passed in January last year.

Think about this.  If this is what they are willing to reveal to the public, imagine what they're doing behind closed doors.

Considering Europe's history I'm surprised you guy aren't totally paranoid about your governments.

I'm just saying, I understand Europe's support for socializing education and healthcare, but surveillance is something that should be done sparingly.

We're leery of that sort of thing, although the Patriot Act was a nasty step in the wrong direction for us.
