The very reason flu pandemics have been discussed in previous years is because the influenza virus family as a whole is so good at mixing and matching DNA to form novel strains. Something like this has been in the works for years, and it was only a matter of time. Eventually, there truly will be another huge flu pandemic, and it will cost many,many lives, regardless of how medically advanced we are at the time.

Well considering that unlike the avian flu it's not the virus itself which kills you but the resulting pnemonia that finishes you. I would say that we are okay for now. I mean the normal flu can do that anyway, this one is just able to accomplish it in healthy adults. So you people can put away your duct tape you don't need to seal up your homes quite yet.

I hope not. Ive got family that travels to mexico quite often on business. But so far, Im not that worried. just sounds like a bad flu outbreak. these things happen

-Drink orange juice, take a good multivitamin, eat healthy
-Exercise
-Wash your hands and use alcohol-based cleansers (like Purell). NO ANTI-BACTERIAL SOAP THAT SHIT JUST PROMOTES ANTI-BACTERIAL RESISTANCE.
-Buy some masks just in case
