I suppose you could list Ukraine under the USSR, but as it doesn't exist anymore, non applicable.

Chernobyl would be somewhere I would like to visit out of vast curiosity, and to see if there really are creepy goings on
I intend to go at some time in the not too distant future. Flight to Kiev and day trip to the exclusion zone. Girlfriend ain't too hot on the idea though, I'll probably have to go on my tod or rope some gullible mate into it.
You could always grab an old NBC suit from a surplus site.

I hear the background radiation isn't really dangerous now, unless of course you go sit near the plant. Pretty amazing place though, giant Soviet 1980's time capsule and a good exmaple of what it would be like if people disappeared. (I watched that program )

Reminds me of that Harry Hill joke:

"My grandma used to tell me when I was a little child scared of the dark that what you can't see can't hurt you. She died several years later of radiation poisoning..."

You can taste it though, sometimes. When the reactor first blew the people in the surrounding area could taste metal in the air.

Its an insanely freaky place though, especially that theme park and seeing all the stuff that was left behind.

Yet still when you go on the themepark tour, they won't let you out of the bus for more than a few hours.

You have to keep to the paved areas as well, less radiation contained in it than the vegetation.

I don't know about that M.O.A.B., I do know the "don't stray from the path, stay out of the buildings" thing is because those buildings are prone to collapse and rather than that it has anything to do with radiation.

I've heard some buildings you will be taken into, but something like you have to stay away from wood floors since they're prone to collapse and stuff.

woah, before and after pic.

Everyone who played COD4 will recognise these.
