u may need to upgrade yer pc tho to get the most out of the graphics tho..  I got a decent rig with a 7800gt, and ive had to trim down on settings slightly.. but damn, it still looks unbelievable!

Planning on buying it, after I've recovered from my 2 GB RAM, PSU and new graphics card purchase. Do you need to be somewhat familiar with the previous Elder Scrolls games? I've never played any of them so...

Played ES3. It was fun. I played Oblivion for about 2 hours and, carefully replaced the security seal and returned it. Why?

The two things that made me stop are the NPCs. When you talk to them they have no body language. There heads just sit frozen no matter how urgent the situation. Stopping the first portal to Oblivion for example.

The other problem is the heads. They just "look" terrible compared to the rest of the game. I kinda knew it was going to be an issue making my character. They are just to undefined compare to the rest of the game. Also with all the options on the head they don't change much.

If that stuff doesn't bother you then the game rocks. I just can't bring myself to look at those ugly mugs for hours and hours. It shouldn't be an issue to me but, I think game's are to the point that NPC interaction can be a lot better than what it was.

I didn't see any ugly heads though.. so what game are you talking about? It actually sounds like you are talking about Morrowind. THAT game had ugly haeds compared to the rest of the game. Oblivion's characters look fabulous.
I've played Oblivions's predecessor, Morrowind, extensively and got Oblivion a couple of days ago. It is indeed one of the greatest games I have ever played, and I've been gaming since the days of Wolfenstein 3d. Just buy it already. I haven't played it much because I'm waiting for my new graphics card to arrive because Oblivion doesn't run entirely smoothly on my current rig.

Oblivion looks awesome, but I'm still thinking. Brain's still reeling from PhysX title reels. Still, the landscape looks awesome.

It Fallout 2 is the greatest game ever, though ive never played Oblivion il have to check it out.

I've finished Fallout 2 a couple of times and it is indeed a very good game, one of the best, but not THE best. I haven't played Oblivion much yet, but so far, I like it more than I liked Fallout.

I liked Half-Life 1 much better than 2. That's not to say HL2 is a bad game or anything, it was pretty good.
But come on, the AI was BETTER in half-life 1. Whether you take that as a compliment for HL1 or an insult to HL2 is up to you.

Yeah some company bought the rights to it (i think its the smae company that made morrow-wind) if they do it any justice (unlike Fallout: Tactics) it ought to be the single greatest game ever made!!

I like games like oblivion (again I have'nt played but I think I know the type) but Fallout was gritty and mean while at the same time being very funny. And the end sequence rocked the way it told you how you affected the area you just played though just made me wanna play again and again for the alternative endings.

I also thing story lines are very important, and I thing Final Fantasy 7 had one of the best storylines ever along with Deus Ex (1 not 2!!).

Ps: Its a crime to call yourself a series gamer and not check out Fallout!
