I was my prep-school's resident Pokemon Blue/Red Master. I had that shit on lockdown; everyone bring your GameBoy (later GameBoy Colour) link-cables to me and prepare to either trade me your best beasties for my mutual respect, or to be thrashed by my Charizard and other Bulbasaur/Squirtle awesomes! Ahaha, such amazing memories! I remember reading the hype for the first upcoming Pokemon games/craze in the Nintendo magazine I used to get at the time... don't think I've ever received a game as a Christmas present with such childish excitement before. Literally spent weeks, months even, reading about the games before they came out. Yellow was a bit of a "WTF YOU'RE RUINING THE PERFECT YING/YANG BALANCE OF OUR AMAZING POKEMON WOOORLD", but we adjusted to it. Gold/Silver was a bit of a shitty franchise-mining operation. All the new ones, Amber/Dried Spunk, Charcoal/Grime, whatever the fuck they're called, are just TERRIBLE. From what I have seen they have robot Pokemon and planet-Pokemn and shit. Retarded.
YES!

In Silver my Scyther got that uber-rare Pokemon virus that really powers up your Pokemon. Unfortunately at the time I had no idea how rare or how amazingly good it was, so I put him in his own box on the PC and waited for it to become un-contagious
I'm sure people have already said this (assuming there are sane people on this board, but maybe not), but Silver/Gold was the best. There was a ton of stuff to do and enough pokemon to keep things interesting. Later games felt completely overwhelming with too many pokemon, too many gimmicks, too many side-thingys (berry-mixing, wtf? pokemon pageants, wtffff!?), it was just ridiculous.

Putting a pokemon with pokerus in the PC is the only way to KEEP the virus and to pass it on to other pokemon if you want to latermtb0minime wrote:

Yeah that's what I heard, but I kept it in it's own box away from the other pokemon, so I never got to pass it on to anyone until it was too lateMutantbear wrote:

What do you mean too late. It doesn't go away if its in the PCmtb0minime wrote:

Red/Blue was original and genius, something new and fresh. Rivalled only by Zelda on the GameBoy, tbh.
Crystal? Yeah well Mutant you would vouch for that seeing as technically when Red/Blue were released, you were a sperm swimming around in your dad's ballsack.

Steelix has the highest Defense in the ENTIRE GAME and weavile is faster then every starter
EDIT: I was wrong, Steelix has the 2ns highest base defense behind shuckle but it doesnt matter because shuckle is extremely poor with a base hp of 20

Everyone knows the original 150 (151 if you count Mew) are the only true Pokemon.
All the others are just FAKE.
All the others are just FAKE.
You're just to cheap to buy Platinum. And the first 151 was only beaten by the third generation (Ruby/Sapphire) in terms of number of lame Pokemon.Poseidon wrote:

Defense, not Special Defense. And Weavile while quick, leaves much to be desired in all other areas, except for attack but that's only decent at best.Mutantbear wrote:

My Torterra has mega HP, Attack and Defense, and my Charizard has good speed and pwn Special Attack.

I remember at some point it told me that it wore off and was no longer contagious. I must've just taken him out and went on with using him.Mutantbear wrote:

Scroll down, it will be worth it. I promise.
Keep going.
Serious.
See? Totally worth it for that last pic. You're not even reading this are you?
I wouldn't be. Scroll up and look at that last pic some more.

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
R&B were amazing, as was Silver/Gold. except it was the same idea rehased, but it was a fucking good idea.Uzique wrote:

Oddly enough, Sapphire was pretty good too, lots of new things added.
I had (no joke)
Red
Blue
Yellow
Silver
Gold
Crystal
Sapphire
Pinball
with R/B/Y with all 151, and i think i possibly completed Saphhire too.

My Red link squad was Charizard, Alakazam, Gyarados, Mewtwo, Dragonite and Snorlax. Grinded to lvl100 through the elite4 (none of that misingno shit because everyone knows natural stat growths are better than rare candied growths).
The dinnerladies banned gameboys in the playground so we just went back to the classrooms at break. They must've been wondering where all the year 5 and 6 kids were but we knew that entering a classroom was just beyond their paygrade

Steelix is a terrible choice.
So is Raperior. And Torterra.
