Is it sydney?
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

You don't have to worry about loosing a cap with the retractable end, and it still keeps it protected.

What'd you pay for it?
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

.Sup are you still running your HD595's out of that amp?

Nice buy I am looking to get an amp soon either this or Tailsman T-3H.

I picked up a pair of Beyer Dynamic DT250's today and they are pretty shway.

@Hooch the cans are HD600 (300 ohm) so an amp is a must

g'damn Sup ... your neighbors must hate the shit out of you

I just bought a Samsung 1080P8 DVD player to match up with my new Samsung 32" HDTV (see previous post in this thread )!!! Bought it at Alternate. They didn't have anymore and the P8 has been replaced with the P9 (which costs a little over €80), so they sold me the display model for €57.90 (they normally sold them at retail for €63.90). Sweet!!!

Now time to buy a couple of HDMI cables!

Yeah impedance is a bitch was looking at Beyer's DT880 but with 250 ohm, they would require an amp and I don't have 800 AUD lying around.

How do you find the sen HD600s, I am reliably informed they are great for classical and acoustic music but how about the other genres?

Haha at the tubes in that thing, Sup! Whack some proper EL's in there! I have a Class A guitar amplifier that set me back a breezy £1,500 (the bigger versions cost significantly more but I wanted a portable solution), and the cleartones are beautiful. Running it through a Celestion Alcino Blue speaker as well which is £500's worth of speaker, the best possible solution for a guitar's tone. The tube-hybrid technology that seems to be coming back around nowadays is... different. Bit of a bitch to maintain them and keep it in good order- they're so temperamental!

Today after my order on a second Macbook Air fell through (for the girlfriend, oh dear), I picked up a top-spec one of these:

https://www.cnet.co.uk/i/c/nws/MacBookBlack/MacBookBlack1.jpg

2.4Ghz C2D, 4Gb Crucial DDR2, 320Gb HD space- the top spec old-generation Macbook, in other words. They should have never discontinued those sexy badboys! Mainly because it drives up the price... it cost me the same as an Apple-Refurb Air. Pssht. Worth it though, they hold their value well considering the fact Apple killed off a highly-successful and muchly sought-after model of their Macbook.

Impendance is basically resistance. How much current something will let through at a specific Voltage. As you might know, Ohm's law/the power law states that P(Watts)=U(Voltage)*I(Current) and I=U/R(Resistance).

If you have a 8-Ohm speaker rated for 50 Watts, you will need an amplifier capable of outputting 20 Volts to reach maximum excursion. If you have another speaker rated 50 Watts, but at 16Ohm, you only get 25 Watts from that amplifier. You need a bit over 28 Volts to get 50W out of that one. 32Ohm, 40V. 64Ohm, 57V.

In the case of headphones, you need 1.26V to run a pair of 100mW/16Ohm phones. You need 5.47V to run a pair of 100mW 300Ohm ones.
