looking to build comp

just wondering if anyone has suggestions for a good site to build a custom computer.
any reccomendations would be appriciated....

ok so i went to tigerdirect.ca and picked out some things....
this is what i put togeather, is it all i'll need to have a full running comp? did i forget anything?

right now my cost before shipping is 1499.95 + 230(video card) so 1729.95 CAD

btw would it make much of a difference if i switched the video card to this:
- HIS Radeon 1600 XT IceQ II Turbo / 256MB GDDR3 / PCI Express / Dual DVI / VIVO / Video Card

i was there but i couldnt find a section for building your own whole comp...
all the parts but i dont really know how to put everything togeather myself.
oh and does newegg ship to canada cause it wont let me register a province there just states

yes newegg.com is too order parts not build computers, heres an idea go to a local comp shop, ask how much it costs to put together a computer, find the cheapest then order parts from newegg.com or tigerdirect.com if you can

First, you should start by mentioning how much money you are willing to part with. Pre-built systems made by places like Black Widow, Falcon Northwest and Alienware generally have a big, fat surcharge added to them, as opposed to parts you cobble together on your own.

As for views of AMD versus Intel, I'm afraid you're going to get the best price/performance deal out of AMD. Any serious hard-core computer builder knows this.

corsair.com they have a section on start to finish system build where they build an amd dual core. they show the parts they used. how they're installed. plus overclocking and other things

get a good 450 watt psu and 7800gt since its more bang for the buck...

Up the power on your psu and buy a good brand. Dont make the mistake of buying a great rig and a crap psu or welcome to a life of crashes and bootup no shows. Dont buy a flat screen with speekers on it, they are under powered and usless.
A dedicated system 74gb Raptor to run your apps along with the bigger drive for storage would be nice.
