3000 billion divided by 360 million = $8,333.33

Much to my wife's chagrin.

Yes, but the fact remains that Obama's policies have been more corporatist than socialist. They're quite different.FEOS wrote:

Well, admittedly, socialistic governments often have a strong interventionist streak, so he's consistent with socialism in that respect, but more than anything, Obama is certainly not an antiwar president.
Granted, I'm not saying I want him to be. I just think invading Iraq was a stupid move.
WHICH HE BLOODY WELL ISN'T YOU STUPID FUCKS.

Oh...NOTHING. That's what.
Socialist =/= antiwar
It's kind of hard to claim a president is the worst ever if he's only been in office for a few months.Mitch wrote:
the worst failure of an administration in history.
well, failure is a matter of perspective.
if like me, you believe personal freedom and privacy are good, its a failure. a giant leep in the opposite direction.
inb4 'like bush was any better'
no he wasnt. its a corrupt government no matter who the president is. only a libertarian president could fix this nation but never will a libertarian hold presidents office for a number of reasons.
oh and how about that new government study that says 'following a third party is a sign of a domestic terrorist' and 'displaying anti government and confederate flags are a sign of a domestic terrorist'
I hated Bush, but even I realize he wasn't the worst ever. Obama would have to do so much damage to this country to be the worst president that I don't think he could do it if he wanted to. Buchanan really was the worst we've had.
To some degree...but his administration's attempts to control executive compensation for companies that don't accept bailout money is pretty much hard-core socialist and anti-corporatist.Turquoise wrote:

So he's all over the map.

I'm aware of taxing corporate bonuses for AIG, but when did Obama impose restrictions on salaries for companies that didn't receive bailouts?FEOS wrote:

Obama is in over his head... He is having to try and keep all his grandiose promises and is being met by reality... It would be foolish and disrespectful to the incredibly brave men and women who fought in Iraq to pick up and run because of political pressure... I just hope he continues to listen to his generals and other military advisors and listens to their counsel...

cant you be more original?

I'm not going to argue your intent.
somebody was discussing the great majority of people's definition of socialist being totally wrong. when I read that, I was reminded of that clip. Nothing more to it than that. Dont have to be smarter than a sack full of rusty hammers to figure that one.

Like Ive said before. You dont build a Burger King, Pizza Hut and a Subway right next to each other on a base in the middle of Iraqi farmland if you were planning to leave anytime soon.
