NEW YORK – President Barack Obama should specifically address disparities in black unemployment, foreclosures, education and health care, the National Urban League says in its annual "State of Black America" report.

Despite the progress represented by the election of the first black president, blacks are twice as likely to be unemployed, three times as likely to live in poverty and more than six times as likely to be incarcerated, says the report, which was being released Wednesday.

Obama has said that the way for government to help minorities is by improving things like education, employment and health care for all Americans.

Ok BO... the African Americans that believed in you and voted for you are waiting for your help... Wonder if he will do anything for these folks
or if he will only give them some lip service...Hope and Change and smooth talk wont cut it anymore?
This will be such a dissapointment for the African American community if he doesnt fix all the issues they want fixed... ?

I didnt say anything bad about BO... I just said a lot of people are counting on him to do a lot of things... my question was... will he live up to their
image of him or will they be dissapointed...? He may actually fix a bunch of things for the African American community.... just wondering what other people thought...?

Now for my response to the OP. The govt. has already tried to help the minority communities, they found them a way to become a homeowner, without hard work, or even money, and they fucked it up.

What exactly is Obama supposed to do for the black community that he is not supposed to do for anyone else? You do realize reversed, this would be racism right? But as it is, it bevomes nothing more than that entitlment attitude that has infested America.

Ask not what you can do for your country, DEMAND your country, to do everything for you.

The thing is since a black person became President there is no excuse of what blacks can't do in this country. I hope he doesn't need to address issues for them like welfare. Everything else they can do for themselves.
