territory exchange should work but if it doesnt as you say than try to upraise offer like money + territory + technology. or cancel alliance and then offer it again but with regions already. dunno.Bevo wrote:

I'm doing RTI chapter 4, and i've got most of the eastern regions for the US. (13/22 total, 3/7 listed).
I'm allied with both france and spain (very friendly, trade etc), but they have louisiana and new mexico which I both need. I've tried haggling for the regions (trading even 4 of mine for both louisiana regions), but they won't accept.
Should I just up the offer, pay in gold, or turn on them and burn their armies to the ground? I make a fare bit from trade with each of them and I wouldn't really like to get wtfraided by 2 of the most powerful nations, however my income has gone up to about 25k per turn so I might be able to sweep all their america-theatre colonies and win that way.
It's winter 1797 so I don't really have a load of time.

Burn Paris. Then laugh at them for not giving you what you asked for when you asked.
Burn Madrid. Then laugh at them for not giving you what you asked for when you asked.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
I'm thinking about just taking france out and conquering the louisianas then bargaining for new mexico.
Although I'm not quite sure where I'd take the other regions.... the bahamas were pretty easy during chapter III

wtf I can't beat the 3rd Chapter of RTI
I take one region and it just leaves the other region open for attack. They attack I win but I lose a lot of people. They attack again I lose. It goes on and on.

try leaving a garrison of troops in each region for defense. In other words, don't attack another region with your full force, leave a portion in the city you wish to defend and reinforce your main army from the field. Keep recruiting in the regions until you find them to be properly defended.icecold2510 wrote:

I do leave a garrison, I then patch them up and then they get attacked while they are healing then lose[-DER-]Omega wrote:

I then have to bring my main army back to takeover (All this happens at Boston) and then the other region is attacked. Sucks being surrounded...
if any one wants a different government type
If you are an absolute monarchy, the alternatives are constitutional monarchy and a republic. To get a change of government, you need to cause a revolution. Do this by "provoking" the necessary class. To go from an absolute monarchy to a republic, you need to stoke up the anger of the commoners. To get a constitutional monarchy, you need to antagonize the nobles.
To get a republic, put the taxes for the commoners up as far as they will go. Then exempt every city from those taxes except your capital. Move the garrison out of the capital city and a reasonable distance away. After a number of turns, the commoners will revolt and you'll need to join the rebels. With your new force, you'll defeat the previous administration and the government change is complete.
You'll also get a slightly different flag. You can go from republic to constitutional monarchy by taxing the nobles and you can go from a constitutional monarchy to a republic but it does not appear to be possible to get back to an absolute monarchy.
what the flags turn into

Being able to change government sounds awesome.
Is there any specific benefits for being a certain type of government?

i reckon republic is the best the only disadvantage i can think of is that you can only change 1 minister per turnFlecco wrote:

I auto most of the time because I only lose maybe 100 men in a fight. If I fought the battle I'd lose maybe 500 or more. I guess I'm just horrible at this game lollegionair wrote:

so many bugs this game is almost unplayable
Can someone help me out?
I am having a few problems with this game. For one the loading times are very slow. And the gameplay itself is very slow and not so responsive.
What is wrong?

Did you know one of the many problems with the game is that AI nations dont load troops on navies. that really kills the game. Also, there is a shitty save bug.
I can barely play the game because it is so slow.Man With No Name wrote:

CA has a lot of work to do. Id just hold fast.
Depends on the battle if I auto or not ... at first I played most of the battles but now at the end of my first GC I only fight a few battles ...
Had an epic bridgebattle the other day, had lined up some puckle guns and mortars on my side just waiting for the Russians to attack ... it was a massacre
Concerning bugs ... the few that bothers me is the loading time and sometimes CTD when trying to move a naval group ...
